This story is arguably one of the best Joker stories I’ve read! It’s both real and unreal. It’s unreal in how amazing the writing is and how in character everybody is throughout. But it’s real in how well thought out the plot is and the OCs are great. The character development and growth is great and you know how to write both Arthur and Joker. The AU Plot and Cannon Plot merge together effortlessly to where you can barely tell the difference. I love how you talked about mental illness. It was spoken in such a real and raw way. I’ve suffered from anxiety and depression (self-diagnosed, but I’m 95% sure) and the way you wrote about mental illness is so relatable. You didn’t say the have mental issues, you showed it. Life is shitty, and this story says that, but it also shows in the end that we can make the best of what we have (in a non-cheesy way). Anyway, this is getting way too long, and I just wanted to let you know how much I love this story! 3

I have read this entire story in a short period of time, and just wanted to say that it's a great fanfic. I'm looking forward to seeing how it progresses. It's definitely the best written Joker piece I have read so far. The character development is excellent and the story fits well with the events of the film.

I have read numerous stories with "what if" scenarios. Typically, they involve Arthur falling in love and being stopped from descending into crime and madness. Some of them involve him meeting someone after he has become the Joker, where he is portrayed as both a serial killer and an abusive, brutal partner. This is the only fanfiction I have read which explores the possibility of Arthur falling in love, but still living through the events of the film. I personally find this a bit more realistic than the idea of Arthur being suddenly saved by a love interest, and I feel you have kept true to his character.

As far as the suiting-were there two separate suits? I've heard some claim this-there was one that's more rust/brown and a redder one he wore as Joker. But then the script I think only references one, and that was always sort of my impression. I can possibly see some color difference between, say, the pants and vest ensemble worn to Pogo's and the Joker suit.

But then photos from the cut funeral scene show a pretty red suit, so I don't know. \_(ツ)_/
