Berivokcs chapter 2 . 6/26 I think Hermione's animagus is a cat or an owl, Harry's a stag or a dog or a lion, Ron's a dog or a wolf. |
Theblackbook chapter 2 . 4/18 You really get the characters right, even the way they speak! Awsome! |
Dark Serpent Cat chapter 2 . 2/4 This isn’t so much of a guess but a suggestion. I kind of want to see Ron’s animal form to be a spider. Admittedly, I doubt this would work but I thought of it because of how many new age books talk about spirit animals and how sometimes people who have a phobia towards certain animals, such as spiders, are their spirit animal |
Fast Frank chapter 2 . 10/26/2019 Sort of fun. |
Guest chapter 2 . 10/26/2019 Snape totally knew Hermione was lying, right? I mean, she was acting pretty suspicious! When he finds the missing crystal phials, by process of elimination, he’d realize it was Hermione...so maybe while splitting up the ingredients and items, either Harry or Ron should keep those just in case? Not sure that he’s realize that the phials are for animagus transformations though...there have got to be a lot of magical uses for crystal phials. As for Ron...I mean, yeah, it was immature of him to act as he did just because he felt like he was getting left behind and Harry and Hermione were succeeding, it can you honestly say you wouldn’t feel the same if you were in his shoes? I can’t! If my friends and I were learning how to transform ourselves into animals and I messed up and thought that my friends would succeed way before me, I’d be upset too. Yeah, his comments were annoying, but it’s not like he tried to sabatoge his friends’ attempts. As for their forms...I hope you don’t go with their Patronus forms...there’s nothing to say canonically that animagus forms have to be the same as your Patronus forms. Lily’s Patronus was a doe in response to her feelings for James, whose animagus form was a stag. Tonks’ Patronus changed to reflect Remus’ physical form as a werewolf. So there’s no reason to believe that their animagi forms HAVE to be their Patronus forms. And anyway, their Patronuses might end up being different/changing as a result of their characters changing in your story. But I could see Harry being a fast bird of some kind because of his love of flying. As for Hermione and Ron, I’m not sure. I like the thought of at least one of their forms being something that can easily blend in that wouldn’t be noticed if they ever have to spy...but I also like the idea of at least one of the three having a big form that can fight if necessary. Do the animals have to be animals native to the British Isles or could they be from somewhere else? I kinda like the idea of one of them being a badger or wolverine because those things are pretty badass and strong...or maybe a lynx? Or a wild boar—those things are vicious and can easily kill humans if they try. Same with wisents or aurochs. And as for an animal that could blend in easily, maybe a cat or a Scottish wildcat for Hermione or a weasel or red squirrel for Ron? All of those are fairly common enough that no one would think twice about seeing one. And squirrels are amazing climbers...I’ve seen them scale completely vertical walls before. |
Corvus Black chapter 2 . 10/25/2019 I really like the premise here. Now you mention it, I can only think of a few Animagi trio fics - and in fact some of those were just Harry and Hermione. I actually thought that was the route you were taking when Ron managed to dislodge his leaf. That they didn't manage to do it immediately in the first month on their first try is a good thing. It's nice to see Harry and Ron expanding their spell repertoire and I hope the drive Harry has shown so far transfers to a marked improvement in Transfiguration class for him, if not Ron (who would be the Peter analogue here). Would be nice to see him help with the potion as well, seeing as he is actually a rather good potioneer without Snape breathing down his neck. Anyway, as for forms, they should logically be the same as their canon patronuses. Hermione an otter and Ron a Jack Russell. Harry would be either a stag or an owl, as we see that Dumbledore's patronus is a phoenix, like his animal companion. |
NineYetis chapter 2 . 10/25/2019 Harry: a bear/badger because he can put up with a lot and anytime he actually gets angry people die. Hermione: a falcon because she’s smart and really focused. Ron: a dog. |
caveydude chapter 2 . 10/25/2019 great stuff, thank you for sharing your work |
hervissa chapter 2 . 10/25/2019 Hey, this is actually a very cool story idea! I rather like your characterization of the Trio, especially 'Mione :D Minerva might suspect and might even know, but...being an Animagus is an advantage of the highest form and I do think Albus would kindly suggest her leaving the Gryffindors be. Because rules are not for them and there is war on the horizon and wouldn't you like a sherbet lemon? ...siriusly now: I think she'd be unsure whether to stop them or help them on the account of eliminating mistakes. It will be most interesting to see the whole process! (And as for their forms - since I ain't sure if it's possible to influence them anyhow, I will take a wild guess and say at least one of them will be a bird. Possibly Hermione. To keep an eye on the bois. Hah.) Great writing style you have! ~hervissa :) |
NineYetis chapter 1 . 10/24/2019 This is REALY good and I am looking forowrd to updates. Also: back when Hermione is telling the group they will need to eat soft food you misspelled food and mood. thought you ought to know. |
Petrificus Somewhatus chapter 1 . 10/20/2019 I really enjoyed this. You did a great job with the trio dynamic, adding little details, and keeping everyone in character. Hermione was especially enjoyable. Having said that you made a couple of choices (the odd cockney accent Ginny and Ron have, Harry and Ron referring to her as 'Mione) that pull me out of the story a bit. |
Guest chapter 1 . 10/19/2019 Ha, this is really funny! I always thought it was strange that Harry, who loves hearing about his parents and doesn’t mind breaking the rules, never thought to recreate the Marauders by becoming animagi with his friends. Besides, you don’t need a wand to change forms once you are an animagus, so if he, Ron, or Hermione are ever disarmed or captured, they could use their forms to escape once alone or if the situation is really dire, to defend themselves physically. And they could spy easily too, as we know from Rita! |
The Silvernote chapter 1 . 10/18/2019 This is a really interesting concept! It’s well written and he characters feel natural and true to the books. Well done! |
