First of; amazing story you have here and can't wait to read more.

Now I do have to ask: Why no Zanpakuto? I feel like if Nero is gonna go unlock his shinigami powers then him getting one of their main "features" should come standard. Heck, you can even link it to his demon side and use that as a vehicle for him to learn more about his demonic heritage. Heck have it be something that can be combined/connected with Red Queen and/or Yamato so Nero doesn't have to ditch either. Admittedly its more work and mental gymnastics but it I think it would be worth it as long as it doesn't overshadow his original image.

Your characterization of Nero is masterfully done and the tongue-in-cheek humor and references you pull off are awesome. I enjoyed his progression with Yoruichi and I am very invested in their pairing and also on how his understanding that he may go away and never come back or stay stuck forever could affect his feelings.

The only thing that bothered me while I was reading was the occasional misspelling and the lack of useing the other yours, aka you're (you are). Just a minor peeve of mine.
