LastationLover5000 chapter 16 . 7/26 So when you said a lot happens in this chapter, you weren't kidding. It's a shorter chapter than some of the others but a lot of violence happens in it, so it's pretty dense for such a shorter chapter. Not going to lie, if someone had told me this was going to involv with Jiren so close to the end, I would have said they were mad. It's gone down t now but still, everyone is piling as much as they can into the fight against Jiren. I can't recount everything - that is what made me slow down on reviews - but suffice to say it was a pretty good fight. It's all coming down to the wire now; Vegeta is evolving, Cell's Kefla battery is back on, No. 35 is just...well, they don't get tired and something is up with Gohan. He seems to be approaching a new level of power on his own, though Jiren handed him his halfing ass LOL. I'll look forward to the next update! |
LastationLover5000 chapter 15 . 7/23 Going to keep my review brief, but I am baaaaaaaaack and this was a brilliant chapter. You managed to wrap up two fights splendidly. No. 35 vs. Toppo and Gohan vs. Hit were well-written, interesting bouts, and I very much liked their conclusions. Toppo because not only was he outmatched, but Piccolo had helped wear him down well before he had to deal with a limitless androgyne about to beat the crap out of him and doing it quite effectively. With Gohan and Hit, not only is Gohan coming into his own, but Hit laid a very clever trap. I admire the attention being given to Gohan, and I can't wait to see where it goes. The allusions of him developing a U.I.-like power are interesting. But with Cell and Jiren, that was the real meat of the chapter. Cell is slowly adapting to Kefla's power, gradually assimilating more of it, until suddenly Hit cuts off the fresh supply entirely. But now, there's a three-man team of opponents ready to take on Jiren and it is the most unlikely alliance I've ever expect; Cell, Gohan, and No. 35. Suffice to say, I am interested in the next chapter and very glad Cell hasn't lost his lunch! |
isobu chapter 8 . 7/7 I get what your saying but Goku basically carried the TOP on his back, i'd say Cell has potential a metric fuck ton of it but i don't think he could reasonably get to ssj2 kefla level so fast unless you give him Ultra instinct as well |
LastationLover5000 chapter 14 . 6/15 Ok whew boy. Not going to lie, you pulled a fast one on us, setting up Jiren vs. Cell but then doing a hop, skip, and a jump over to another battle. At the same time, you managed to make Toppo (and Jiren by extension) more interesting than in canon. All it took was around three paragraphs and you made both of them more interesting than Toei or Toriyama ever did. I almost actually believe that they are "friends". Toppo's transformation into a Hakaishin was also pulled off better here. Rather than just...deciding he was 110% done with Freeza's bullshit, it was Belmod himself who goaded and coerced Toppo into the transformation, complete with a very cool mental image communication with Belmod. And you gave Piccolo such a damned good ring-out scene, I felt compelled to give the Nameccian a nod, even as he fell into the abyss. He inspired Saonel and Pirina to fuse one final time; Vegeta is going to have his work cut out for him, I don't think a Nameccian this strong has ever existed. Now, for something I don't think anyone expected. I figured you'd use the Potara again (fanfic and all that, and since the damned Potara is legal, it makes sense) but to have done it on Nos. 17 and 18? Now THAT is surprising. I see you didn't use the design of Android 1718 from DB Fusions either, but went in your own route. I like it. But now I need to know...is it a boy? A girl? Which way will Kuririn bang it?! These are the vital questions that'll keep me up until I read Chapter 15, where hopefully the gender issue will be addressed! Good work so far! |
LastationLover5000 chapter 13 . 6/13 And I've gotten around to another chapter, and what a chapter this was. I know this is meant to focus on Cell, but the focus you give to other characters is honestly this fanfic's strongest point. The fact that Gokū continues to basically cameo in this story as a spectator is fantastic. Your battle choices have been pretty fun so far; Pirina and Saonel vs. Vegeta has been a pretty interesting fight. I think the anime had them fight Piccolo and Gohan because it's "the Nameccian and the honorary Nameccian" fighting the other two Nameccians and while I get that, the entire point of this tournament should have been for some interesting, fun match-ups. We're getting them here. The Nameccians pushing Vegeta to God, the way you described their fusion and the effect it has on those who sense their energy and those who fight against them? Love it. Hit vs. Gohan was an interesting one as well. Not only did I enjoy humble dad Gokū having faith in his son, but seeing Gohan cleverly use his energy to effectively create a fake Ultra Instinct that allows him to react to Hit's Time Leap was brilliant. Not something I would have considered, and definitely something I am going to borrow. But Cell comes back in to fight and fairly easily handle Dyspo. I can't say I'm going to miss him, tbh. You're also using this as the chance for good character interaction; we can see a good difference between Shin, the empath, and Beerus, the rationalist. Morals have no place in a fight for survival and Beerus knows this. But I sympathise with Shin's stance. No one is really right or wrong here. But now we have CELL VS. JIREN. This is the match that's been a long time coming. You did such a good job with Gokū vs. Jiren that I am trembling at the prospect of Cell fighting the guy; I'll get to the next chapter as soon as I can! |
LastationLover5000 chapter 12 . 6/6 I'd say "this was quite a chapter", but I think I'm starting to get repetitive. But you keep surpassing yourself everytime I read a new one. While Gokū's Genki Dama struggle with Jiren and his ascension to U.I. are still my favourite moments so far, this might be my favourite chapter. Kefla vs. Cell started off real great; I loved how much she did in her base form against his Golden Form; much better than I expected, and she really seemed to push him. Also I loved you calling out Super's bullshit on the Potara. Great call. The section with the humans was also unexpected, and I am glad they handled the Magical Guys as easily as they did. It goes to show the humans have some merit. But the most interesting bit of this section was Muten Rōshi versus Hit. He shows his skill here and I am really excited to see more of that match in the future. But then Kefla vs. Cell continued and it was amazing. I forgot several things; that Cell would almost certainly use Kaiōken, that Kefla could go SSJ and SSJ2, because you did so well with the fight before that (and continued well after that). Kefla's cleverness, Cell's tenacity, and both of them with power for days. Cell's "Perfect Red" was an amazing sight to behold, well written, and I loved it. But my favourite part of it was Cell absorbing Kefla. You know what I am about, I know you wrote that scene for me, and I appreciate it! Definitely gonna commission the idea down the line. The fact that it was justified because she's not dead and Cell didn't cheat; it's one of his biological abilities, it isn't any different than what the other fighters have done. Overall, great chapter, and I will read more soon! |
Guest chapter 1 . 6/6 I wouldn't call Goku a peace lover. He loves fighting. He loves it so much that he refuses to kill, not out of mercy, but because he wants them to come back and give him an even better fight. He killed Android 13, King Kai and Co., Freeza, Recoome, Buu, etc. because he didn't have a choice, wasn't interested in a rematch, or in Kai's case, didn't know where else to put Cell. |
LastationLover5000 chapter 11 . 6/5 Ah now this was quite a chapter. I say that a lot, and again, I'll keep the review short, but good work! Jiren vs. Anilaza was a great fight. I loved how you gave the creature a good showing, and incorporated his manga abilities as well as the unique abilities you gave to Nigrissi and the like (good set-up from the previous chapter). The scene with Mosco was comedy gold too, but I like how assured Belmod is of Jiren; the man is the strongest without god ki, and the fact that you keep reminding the world of that is welcome. Jiren manhandling Anilaza the way he did, easily reading his moves, countering what other people would consider impossible situation, and winning handily was a solid way to show everyone he means business. Even Cell is scared. I approve. Now here is Cell vs. my favourite ladies. You really do a good Caulifla and Kale, and I do think it is a pity I will never have time to write them in my fanfic. But seeing you write them here was great. Cell is clever, his use of the Juniours and keeping his power in check while handling the girls? Fantastic. But what took me by surprise was a Super Saiyan 3 Kale! Pity she couldn't control the form properly but still, fantastic! And now we have Kefla. I know you wrote something in the coming chapters just for little ol' me, so I'll get to those chapters more sooner than later! Keep up the good work! |
LastationLover5000 chapter 10 . 6/4 Whoo! So I'll keep this review short, but it was a really good chapter. I absolutely loved the beginning, you showcase the childlike nature of the Zen'ō very well (which, admittedly, isn't HARD to do but you still do it well), and the Grand Priest's nature as his minder. I liked it very much. But damn, I did not expect this chapter to come with an extra serving of RICE! It almost felt like the Erased Chronicles up in here, all of this Gohan focus. Gohan vs. Nigrissi was very good, you managed to take a nothing character and expand on him very well. A good personality, fantastic transformation and a unique ability. What did he even do in canon? I legitimately don't remember, and I feel like it involved spinning. DID he do anything in the anime? Regardless, Gohan's clever defeat of him and the follow-up of Frost being taught his place by the Cell Juniours (and also Magetta, who I typically forget) was very clever and a good set-up following Cell striking a deal with him. I figured it'd end similarly to Freeza, but I am not disappointed. Also Gohan's handling of the next fighter, and U4's erasure. A lot of Gohan here and ALL of it is well done. Now it's time for a fight I didn't expect. Jiren vs. Anilaza. The anime played it very much up like a Raid Battle-style thing, with so many fighters in play at once. In the manga, however, Anilaza was just part of Kale's rampage. But here, now, Jiren has taken an interest in him. I can't wait to see how this goes. Keep up the good work and I'll be sure to catch up soon! |
metacllica chapter 16 . 5/28 This has been a phenomenal read so far. Everything leading up to this chapter feels like it would fit right at home if the show wanted to use Cell instead of Frieza. Keep up the good work. |
