Banat chapter 5 . 1h I wonder of Luna will side with Charles |
LCJA chapter 5 . 6/7 Of all the things that could put them in enemy crosshairs, and it's pizza. |
Ash the Aura Guardian chapter 5 . 5/16 Y'know, there was a lot I wanted to say about this story, but the one thing that sticks out to me is the lack of character tags. I'm not sure if that was an oversight or deliberate choice, but it might be at the detriment of visibility or interest. Might wanna look into that. |
god of all chapter 5 . 5/12 Great chapter and story so far please continue this story soon. |
Greatazuredragon chapter 5 . 5/10 Loved the bit with Charles at the end. Keep up the great work. |
betagamma chapter 5 . 5/9 Excellent chapter. I cannot wait for more. |
Zahkrii chapter 5 . 5/9 Gotta admit, the pizza trace doesn't make that much sense... It was already obvious that the palace has its own quality cooks, and silencing them about making a dozen pizzas a day would be far easier than hiding a constant flow of food service deliveries from outside. Especially because they have cooks. But gotta collect stamps for the plushies, I guess :p |
ARXENIX 2.0 chapter 5 . 5/8 ...!BRAVO...BRAVO...! VALIO LA PENA POR LA ESPERA...GRACIAS X EL CAP. COMO SE ENFRENTARA LUNA A MARIANM Y JULIUS?...O SERA CONTRA SAWAKI Y LOS CHINOS?... |
Frosty Wolf chapter 5 . 5/7 Huh, Ohgi's back to teaching already? That caught be off guard, but it does make sense with the system Luna is building here. And Tamaki is definitely better off running a restaurant. Meanwhile Marianne has a bead on C.C., tracked down through pizza shipments no less. I hope we get to see her reaction when she finds out just how close C.C. and her daughter are though, that'll be a laugh. |
Orchamus chapter 5 . 5/6 Oh Marianne, you have no idea how fucked your plans are...and honestly speaking Charles still seems a douche, but at least not a delusional madman of a douche, so kudos to him. |
arga101 chapter 5 . 5/6 Good luck Ashford and Japan! I like that change doesn't just focuses on the military, but also to others. I also have mixed feelings about Marianne and Julius, are they so self isolating and holier than thou that they don't even see another method? Like talking? Great Chapter! Hope you well, stay safe! |
OBSERVER01 chapter 5 . 5/5 Good update. Charles has so kany questions he needs answers to. |
judedota chapter 5 . 5/5 This was a bit of a weak chapter. It was fairly short, and I felt like a lot of it was irrelevant or just hot air. Didn't really care for the Shirley stuff at all. She could disappear from the story completely and I wouldn't care or notice. In fact I'd probably prefer she never takes up any more precious space in the story ever again, lol. The only thing I ever really cared about her character was why it was never shown how she reacted when her father just randomly vanished for several weeks/months, but we never saw that. The stuff with Kallen and the Shinjuku cell was okay, but they still feel disconnected from the overall story. Not really invested in them much, as they played almost no part in Part 1. I wasn't a big fan of Kallen in particular in New Moon, since her role in this AU felt a bit contrived. Personally I could probably do without her until Luna's forces get involved in some serious fighting. If anything I'd like to see how Suzaku is also doing with his KMF. I hope when the fighting starts, Luna brings him in. As she herself said in New Moon, whoever controls the Lancelot has the power to change the world. It was good to see Cornelia is still pursuing the stuff about Marianne, since the scene where Luna put her on the trail was really exciting, and I wondered if we'd come back to it. Unfortunately, nothing really happened. Cornelia just sort acknowledged she wasn't making much progress. I remember back in Part 1 I wanted to leave a review noting that I thought it would actually be TOO easy for her to figure it out, and now I'm again wondering if that would be the case. While a lot of people likely died in that particular year due to the Emblem of Blood, I feel like the name of the Emperor's twin brother would quickly stand out among the rest. Especially given what Luna said afterwards, about faking their death, killing off all witnesses, taking control of the Directorate, etc. It would have to be someone of extraordinary power to do all that, even amongst royalty. And even without that logic, if I was Cornelia, I'd basically go down the list starting with the most powerful people, which would again start with V.V, considering Charles 'won' the Emblem of Blood, and V.V was his brother. Well, anyways, glad to see Cornelia is still working on it, but felt like we didn't really see or learn anything in her part. Really glad we saw some more Charles. I noted in the past that you usually have him give really good insights in your fics (Oath of Blood as well), and was looking forward to seeing more of him. Though again, I feel like he was mostly just musing on things we already know, so there wasn't much to it yet. Either way, I was glad to see more from him. I'll come back to him in a minute. I feel like the only notable new thing this chapter was Marianne/Julius. I've got to say, I'm really starting to hate this Marianne even more than canon. Probably because here we don't have Charles to soak up most of the hate. In canon, Marianne simply ends up being Charles' tag-along moments before they're destroyed anyways. Here she's running the show. Also the fact she's associated with scumbag Julius, and in the body of scumbag Guinevere. I hate how she even talks like canon-Charles, as if Ragnarok is just a matter of course, simply because she wants it to be so. Of course, it's not entirely a bad thing that I hate her, since it'll make it really satisfying when Luna finally crushes her. Sadly, that seems like that may be several hundred thousand words off at this point, which may take you several years. Also a bit worried that Marianne and Julius may finally start to cause trouble. Right now Area 11 stands on the edge of a knife. It wouldn't be difficult for anyone whose interests lay in seeing it fail to cause enough trouble to tip it over the edge. Especially with the resources 'Guinevere' has, and if we assume Julius may have a Geass like Lelouch's. It's kind of funny how in the same chapter we see Marianne being the scheming scumbag she is, we also see Cornelia still trying to avenge her. I wonder if at some point that will come to a head, and Luna will need to set Cornelia against Marianne. Well, most likely Marianne will be removed without anyone ever knowing Guinevere's true identity, but if they did, you have to wonder where people like Cornelia and Jeremiah would fall. Cornelia would probably dismiss Marianne and her plans as insanity. Someone like Jeremiah may support her either way if he learned she was still 'alive.' I know it was partly done to add a bit of light humor, but I really feel like Luna would've accounted for C.C's pizza habits, and made plans to prevent it from exposing her. She's already noted several times that she knows everyone is looking for C.C. Seems sloppy of Luna (and C.C) if that's really how they located her. Then again, without the Geass of Absolute Obedience, there's only so much she can do to guarantee things happen as she wants them to. Back to Charles… this is something I wanted to mention for a while now, but now is a good time seeing as Charles brought up some of these things this chapter anyways. Part of me actually wants Luna to work with Charles. He seems a lot more reasonable in this fic. And not just because he's not pursuing Ragnarok. His few scenes we've seen so far have made him seem fairly practical (well… besides trying to conquer the world). Unfortunately, I think Luna made it pretty clear in Part 1 that she would never abide him, whether he was the same as in her original universe or not. Either way, it's an interesting thought. Especially since, if Charles knew the truth about what Marianne/V.V are trying to do (although we're still not even sure if he's aware of Geass/V.V/Marianne at all…), he'd definitely be against it. It wouldn't be unreasonable for Luna to reveal some of it to Charles, if only to turn him against them. And even Marianne/Ragnarok aside, as Charles noted this chapter, Guinevere and Schneizel are trying to depose of him anyways. So it would make even more sense if he ultimately decided he needed to put them down. It seems like he's debating this now. Hopefully he actually makes a decision (for better or worse) and the story moves with it, rather than just continuing to have him sit idle and think it over while the story passes him by anyways. I really hope to see him get legitimately involved. Back when Luna explained her plans and expectations to Cornelia, she said she expects Schneizel/Guinevere to put down Charles, and then she'll put down whichever one is left standing. But honestly, if Charles isn't involved in Ragnarok (or Geass at all), I feel like he's the lesser threat. If anything Luna should hope that Charles puts down the other two, rather than vice versa. Though again, since it appears Luna still doesn't know who is/isn't involved with Ragnarok/Geass, I guess she can't think that way yet. It's really nagging me that we haven't seen any insights from C.C regarding this yet. She should clearly know whether or not Charles was involved in Ragnarok and/or the Geass Directorate. Sometimes I wonder which is worse: a Charles that is aiming for Ragnarok like in canon, or one that isn't, like in this fic. If he is, it makes him seem insane to pursue something so absurd, and he's also more callous and willing to do even more terrible things, believing it's all 'for the greater good.' If he's not angling for Ragnarok, then it means he truly is the Darwinist asshole he appears to be, and he's simply killing and conquering for the sake of it. Something I wanted to mention about last chapter: I hope Luna reins in the angst a bit. I feel like last chapter had a LOT of it. I understand her doing it more towards the beginning of the fic, when the events of Zero Requiem were recent (literally just happened, from her perspective), but it's odd that I feel the angst is growing more the further away those events get. I guess part of it is that current events are just bringing up those old memories, but I really hope it ends sooner or later. Angst gets old fast. She has all this self-confidence, but routinely we see her internally dwelling on past mistakes. I also feel like a lot of times she blames herself for things that weren't her fault, or takes on more blame than she deserves. At any rate, nothing major, but sometimes I feel like I get whiplash from chapters like the last one: going from her supreme self-confidence, to beating herself up and moping about the past. Anyways, this may have come off as a highly critical/negative review, but that wasn't my intention. Well, this chapter was a bit weak, but that's only because the rest of the story is so incredible. You've set the bar pretty high. I feel like there's so many incredible and exciting plot lines just waiting to burst, but chapters like this feel tedious in delaying them. I've said this in the past, but this fic is incredible. Definitely the top CG fic on this site. Looking forward to more, and I hope some major events can begin to unfold soon! Keep up the great work! Nice to hear your insights on the recaps/Re;surrection as well. What you said about Re;surrection is more or less how I felt. I know a lot of people don't like it or think that it had some major shortcomings, but I think most of that is because it was a standalone story crammed into a sub-2hr movie. I think it was about as good as it could be, or as you said, as close to perfect as you could ask for, for a 2hr standalone movie. It's not surprising they had to come up with a way to bring Lelouch back AND present a new villain/conflict in the same country, at the same time, to squeeze both into a single movie. Like you said, while not as brilliant as R2, I still really loved it – especially the ending. |
BattleshipFusou chapter 5 . 5/5 Well this definitely sets the stage for some very interesting things to come in the future... I'm definitely looking forward to it. |
tf330129 chapter 5 . 5/5 Keep it up :) |
