Reviews for Two Sides of the Same Coin
SockMage chapter 7 . 7/28
This is a really interesting story and deserves more recognition. I really like your choice to show both perspectives. I also like the loss of trust that has taken place between Poland and Lithuania and how you show it. They’ve both suffered a lot on top of their huge falling out, and they approach/view their problems in such different ways. Admittedly I’m not super familiar with the relations between the actual countries beyond that they had major problems with each other in the 20th century (which I wish was explored more with hetalia) but if you ever decide to write more I hope they reconcile even just as friends. If not, the stopping point of Lithuania walking away and still not trusting Poland is surprisingly powerful in it’s own (sad) way.

this is my first lietpol fic and im loving it! i've spent a lot of time researching lithuania and poland as countries simply because i love the two so much and your own knowledge really shines in this work! also i like the small things like you properly addressing the nations as their country names and using the name tolys instead of toris. also also- i headcannoned liet to be very similar to the one you write so it's nice to know others share my perception and i wasnt far off in thought. i look forward to seeing more of this fic if you're still working on it 3 things keep heading from one interesting direction to the next and i can't wait to see how this all develops!

Oh, wow. You write the exact chapter again but in Lithuania's point of view. I did understand you'd chance POV's but I didn't realize you'd do it like this. What to say now... I can only imagine it must be slow and hard thing to do. It takes patience, right?

But as a reader this makes reading interesting. I was wondering what it was with Lithuania in the chapter 1. And now, when I have read his point of view, I'm more sad. (2x sad.) First I was sad because Poland tried his best but met only coldness and now I'm sad because Lithuania thinks no-one cares about him to begin with and everything...

I'm sure now that I will read this story till it's end. At a very slow pace though (I'm not that quick when I read in English), but I will. So keep writing this, please, if you just have the time, energy and inspiration.

I have just read this first chapter but I have to say this story is interesting. It's deep and has historical aspects as well, which is kind of refreshing. Most of the Hetalia fics are just funny and relationship/romance -centric (when they are not full of angst and despair). And the tone in your writing is matured and adult-like, which is good too. I like how you take your time (telling the story) and don't rush or take goofy shortcuts.

I don't know if should I laugh or cry for France who doesn't get what Lithuania and Poland is up to... France, maybe it's time you stop playing cupido - I haven't read a single fic that has a good outcome when you do that...

Thank you for this fic.
