I wasn't able to respond to your review, but in my story line for Joan and Morse, she has two children. Neither one is by Morse, the first a son is by Ray. He becomes a football (aka soccer) player. Her second child is a daughter, whose father Joan married after she and Morse broke up because his drinking ran up some considerable debts.
Joan left her husband because of his infidelity when her daughter was eight. The girl is an aspiring singer/songwriter. Unfortunately Joan believes that she is heading down the same path that she trod.
