What a pleasant surprise to find a new chapter up! Man, this one was full of surprises and wall-to-wall action! To my credit, I did allow for the possibility that the bullet might have grazed Jason's skull rather than smashing through it, so I was not wholly shocked by his survival. I was surprised to your notes spoke of what else the story will feature, as I thought this was the last chapter; I'm curious to see where you plan to go from here.

You are honestly an inspiration to me too, even though I've been stuck for a while not knowing what to do next with my Good Son fic. I don't come to the site often but I DO check in just to read your stuff :) I'm so glad to see you're still going with it. We are a very small group, but I'm thankful for our interactions and I look forward to seeing more.

Very nice! It never occurred to me that Jason Morgan might have survived, nor did I see his mental breakdown coming. It makes sense, and I enjoyed reading your explanation of why Jason is that way now. I also, of course, liked Mark and Henry's ambush; it was exactly what they would do and enjoy. Poor John best move along quickly!

I really liked the frantic, clumsy car journey to Fleetwood Hall to get Mark help; it should have occurred to me that this is naturally where they would go. I also appreciated the irony of how working out and gaining muscle made Mark even more difficult for Henry to carry. As for those guns, wow! I hope we're going to see Henry and Mark encounter some other survivors before they catch up with Jon. Innocent people would be doomed, whereas I'm sure even those seeking to find Flagg would completely underestimate two little boys, even armed. Great work!

It's a pleasant reversal of circumstances to see M and H fleeing before one of their victims for a change! I figured John was going for a gun, and of course he was! Did he score a hit, I wonder? If Mark had to get up, John might well have hit him, and there was a point later on when Henry staggered as well. I'm curious to see if they escaped unharmed or not. John did do some smart packing before leaving, and that should serve him well in the future. Looking forward to the next chapter!
