Please excuse the late review, but I wanted to say that I love this. I always enjoy Laguna POV stories and in this one you capture his nervousness and regret so well.

The interaction between Squall and Laguna is so nicely done. The tentative steps toward a father-son relationship on both sides. It's very heart-warming.

Also, from a technical standpoint, you made writing in the present tense really work in this fic. I’ve always been kind of wary of it (I mean that I don’t think I could write in it, and it’s sometimes used poorly or as a kind of gimmick) but here it works so well to bring the immediacy of the emotions to the reader. Your writing in your second language is very natural, I honestly would not have guessed you are not a native English speaker.

And Squall holding a newborn is always adorable, so thank you for painting that image so tenderly :)

I quite liked this. I love that Squall's son made him willing to let his father in, allowing him to be a part of his life. Well done.
