This is *such* a FANTASTIC new chapter! Can’t wait for the next one! Love the slight jealousy from Bridger and can’t wait to see how that plays out. The seriousness of Kristin being dropped into this and on her own now is also a great plot point. Thanks so much for your hard work - reading a completely new N/K story is stellar!

Ooooh excellent, an update! You have set the scene so well. I think you have definitely grasped the mannerisms and ways of the characters so far. L & K’s interactions are great and the captain-ly send off by Bridger in the first chapter was spot on. I particularly love N/K fics in which N has to save K and, in doing so, realises his feelings for her, so this fic is setting up beautifully! Thanks for your work Jules

This is a fantastic start! I love all N/K stories and I feel like their might be a ‘seaQuest/N to the rescue’ plot unfolding here as K and L undoubtedly get themselves into trouble again (as per usual in the canon!).

Hi, Jewel! So glad you finally got a chance to write! I can't say the same for me, but the good news is my class is over, and my goal has been achieved, so perhaps my life will be calmer so I can do the same. But enough about me, and onto this lovely gem here! Quite an intriguing start! I love that Kristin and Lucas are off to a conference, though as your summary suggests, not all is at it seems. I can't pinpoint where exactly things are going to turn sour, but Dr. Blackwell seems okay...so far. I mean, he's a friend of Kristin's, though who knows how good of friends? I am wondering about a million things about him, but his interest in Lucas worries me slightly. Granted, Lucas is a talented young man, but we've seen this before...people are interested in him and decide to take advantage, and I fear that could be the case here. Then again, considering they're doing octopus research, you could throw us for a loop and do a monster story (similar to the colossal squid in canon). Either way, I can't wait for whatever you've got up your sleeve.

My only complaint is I wish this would have been a little longer, but that's because I wanted more. For a shorter chapter, there were lots of great moments. I loved the sweet moment between Kristin and Lucas. Ugh, Lucas' parents are always too busy for him, so perhaps this story will give way to some lovely Kristin and Lucas bonding, something we don't get to see too often. Also, I loved the slight flirting between K and N, as usual. That was amusing. Oh, and lol, no chapter is complete without a little Ben. And wouldn't it be something if Lucas DID meet a young lady? ;) Anyway, as I said, I can't wait to see what you've got in store. Hope to see another chapter up soon. Well done!
