shthar chapter 4 . 8/3 Ron, that closet had a window, and you had a BULLHORN |
Anonymoose chapter 8 . 6/22 I was pretty satisfied with the first ending and epilogue, but I think this was more in character. Liked the new epilogue too. Hope to keep running into your work. Fingers crossed when I check your profile you’ve got some more Ron x Weis for me. Cheers. |
EmeraldLily16 chapter 8 . 6/14 I wonderful story. Just magnificent. Tell me do you take requests? |
Jimmy1201 chapter 8 . 6/10 A much happier ending than the original. Not that the original ending wasn't good and solid, but this one makes me feel warmer inside. Thanks for the update, I needed it. Jimmy |
lifefailout000 chapter 8 . 6/8 What is it with you people spelling Eric’s name like “Erik?” Is this some British shit or something? |
YACOV chapter 8 . 6/8 Well the discussion between Kim and Ron felt more touch-and-go with regard to whether they would recover this time around; nicely done keeping up the suspense. With the prospect of a new conclusion I was actually somewhat hoping that the two of them might stay broken up and your epilogue would show them no longer in a relationship. It would have been interesting to see Ron and Kim slowly working to mend their friendship and their team while coming to grips with romantic incompatibility (perhaps with hints that each are moving on with new partners); though I grant it would have been much less idyllic than the two of them ending up together. A part of me would like to see Kim and Ron finding solace in their love as friends while accepting that they have grown apart (occupying each other's "friend zones"). The experiences of this romantic failure with one another could have made each of them more independently well-rounded in the long run if this particular version was ever revisited. Regardless, the story is well written. May the inspiration for more works continue to flow. Thanks for writing. |
acosta perez jose ramiro chapter 8 . 6/8 Very good ending here, and great job with Kim and Ron's reconciliation. Keep the good writing. |
ClassyUlysses chapter 8 . 6/8 I actually really like this chapter more than the last chapter. They actually talk their fears, insecurities, feelings and their future. Ron admitted his fears and insecurities about that Kim choose another hottie over Ron. And guess what it happened twice well three times if you count chase. And also for Ron relationship with Kim in future events. Kim admitted that she is jealous that Ron attention is another person besides Kim. If Kim told Ron that Yori and Tara likes him. Ron would still hangout with Kim because they are life time bffs. If Ron choose between yori or Kim. He will choose Kim. I really love this chapter probably the best one because they are letting out their problems to each other.. hoping for more Kim and Ron stories. |
Lostinthought319 chapter 8 . 6/8 Excellent story! You handled the drama and realism very well. This is an engaging, in-character read. |
CajunBear73 chapter 8 . 6/8 The perspective of someone who saw things from Ron's POV brought it home to Kim...didn't it? James' advice to Kim gave her the final piece of a puzzle that she never knew was missing...and helped her finally understand exactly where Ron was coming from. The confrontation Kim had with Ron brought a lot of baggage out into the open to cover and work through, but for once her pride and his insecurities didn't set fire to all the kindling laying among the firewood that could have ignited and ruined all between them. Key points and people were discussed, fears too, and in the end, both gave them, another chance. Kim appreciates who Ron is and helps with her part of the relationship, while Ron becomes the boyfriend and more that she appreciates and can stand as her equal... As for finding the right moment...that one's for their memories and Monique's speculations... CB73 |
TheKPFan chapter 8 . 6/8 Great story, enjoyed. |
Sentinel103 chapter 8 . 6/8 Heck Daccu, I thought that it was over with the last chapter. Now you can do a major time skip if you want maybe to junior year of college. St-103 |
Raj8 chapter 7 . 5/2 Overall I really enjoyed this story, despite knowing very little about Kim Possible. Both of the main characters felt completely understandable throughout the entire story. That said I really hope Ron actually told Kim what happened with Tara, the fact that Kim doesn't understand the smile she gives Ron at the end is a really bad sign. If nothing else this story hammers in just how important communication is. |
Crimson Candlelight chapter 7 . 3/29 Let's start with something simple...the football game. You did an excellent job describing the action and even conveying the strategy that goes into coaching and playing the game. I'd say, you're either a fan of the game, have played and/or coached it or did your homework so you knew what you were talking about and didn't make a fool of yourself. In any case, I was pleased to see that Ron's effort on and off the field paid off with those calls from different colleges looking to sign him. He may not have the book smarts to get him into college, but his skills on the football field will allow him to further his education and make a bright future for himself and the family he'll one day have. Now, for the more complicated stuff. Given what happened in the last couple of chapters, especially with Tara, I was pretty sure something was gonna happen between her and Ron. I was hoping that she'd just let him know that a girl other than Kim was interested in him, and that it would be enough for him to realize that pretty girls do like him and want to be with him, regardless of what he thinks about his desirability. Unfortunately, things went much further than I expected, and I'm very disappointed in both Tara and Ron. First, let me say that I understand why you went the route you did. I mean, Kim had her moment of revelation as she finally saw Ron's POV, and it changed her outlook on their relationship and increased her desire to fix things between them and give dating another shot. So, if Kim saw the light, then Ron needed to see the light, too. However, seeing the light would be much harder for Ron, because he hasn't done what Kim did, and what she did is one of those things that you can't replicate with a thought experiment. That said, I really wish you'd taken the high road instead of the tit for tat approach. I think I might feel differently if Ron hadn't just broken up with Kim two weeks ago and if Tara didn't know about why he'd broken up with Kim. Basically, it felt like Tara's plan all along was to seduce Ron, thus proving to him that hot girls can want him and allowing him to walk a mile in Kim's shoes, so to speak, by hooking up with someone at the spur of the moment and only realizing afterwards that it probably wasn't the best decision and yet not regretting the experience. I know Tara told Monique that she hadn't intended to have sex with Ron, and yet she did it anyway. If you ask me, that makes Tara no better than Chase. Actually, I think Tara is worse than Chase in this instance, because she knew Ron was emotionally vulnerable and in desperate need of some reassurance of his worth when it comes to the opposite sex and also in need of some genuine love/affection. In essence, Tara took advantage of Ron. If she really cared about him, possibly even loved him, then she should've put a stop to things before they went too far. I don't believe for a second that she was so caught up in the moment that she couldn't have stopped things. This may surprise you, but I didn't have a problem with Tara kissing Ron. Okay, so I wasn't thrilled with it, but I can see how she might use kissing Ron as a way to prove to him that she's into him, because I don't think her words alone would've been enough. However, I think kissing would've been enough to prove her point, especially if she told Ron what she did the morning after they had sex, that she really wants him to try to get back together with Kim, that she felt the two of them were great together and that they'd both be happiest with each other. Frankly, I think Tara was incredibly selfish for sleeping with Ron. She was supposed to try to help him fix things with Kim and possibly work on his insecurity issues, and instead, she saw the chance to hook up with a guy she really liked and she took it. As disappointed as I am in Tara, I was even more disappointed in Ron. He'd spent so much time thinking about what Kim had done with Chase, hating it and wondering how she could've done something like that, and then he goes and does the same thing. Granted, at least Ron knew Tara, so it wasn't exactly like what Kim did. Still, even as he was kissing Tara and groping her, he was thinking about what people had said to him, sage advice from those who actually care about him and disgusting philosophy on using girls for your own gratification. It kinda felt like Ron had a devil on one shoulder, Chase, and an angel on the other, Monique. I do applaud Ron for at least thinking about what was happening, even while he was participating in it. He knew it wasn't right, considering his emotional state and the fact that he hadn't completely closed the book on him and Kim as a couple. Still, he didn't stop himself. It's the fact that he was still able to question his actions that proves to me that he wasn't caught up in the moment as Kim claims she was. He knew what he was doing, and he knew it wasn't a good idea, and yet he did it anyway. Where I think Tara used Ron for her own ends, Ron let Tara use him, and he used her in turn. He was feeling down and unloved, and he let a pretty girl tempt him into temporarily making himself feel better. I get that he's a teenager, but he knew the score going in, and instead of standing up and holding to his beliefs about relationships and sex, he threw it out the window. You'd think that after the pain he'd suffered with the Kim & Chase sitch, Ron would've wanted nothing to do with putting himself in a similar sitch and possibly causing Kim the same kind of pain he'd been through. Basically, I was hoping that Ron would be the bigger person, that he would avoid temptation and find another way to deal with his issues. I guess it just felt like you took the easy way out by having Ron go through the same thing as Kim, just so he could see her POV. What really bothered me, though, was that Ron didn't tell Kim what happened between him and Tara. Yeah, Ron made the same mistake as Kim by hooking up with someone he didn't love, but that doesn't mean he had to follow Kim's lead and neglect to tell her about what he'd done, keeping it a secret and hoping that she never finds out. I mean, he knows how much it hurt to find out without her telling him, so why would he even consider letting Kim go through that? Personally, I wish, if you were gonna have Ron have sex with Tara, that you would've had Ron tell Kim and see what happened. Either Kim would be understanding and continue to fight for their relationship, or she would be hurt and angry that Ron hooked up with another girl just two weeks after breaking up with her. Honestly, I think Kim would've ended things with Ron for good if he'd told her about Tara, because how could Kim not think that Ron was just trying to get back at her for Chase, trying to even the score, so to speak. That's a huge reason why I didn't like Tara having sex with Ron in the first place. Tara had to know that if Ron told Kim what they'd done, Kim was just as likely to end things with him forever as she was to forgive him and give their relationship another chance. In essence, Tara was more likely to cause problems for Kim and Ron than she was to fix them. I also wasn't fond of the heart to heart Kim and Ron had. Sure, I loved that they finally sat down and talked and that Kim was honest with Ron, but Ron wasn't honest with her. I also didn't like that Kim still wanted to have her cake and eat it too about her tryst with Chase. I mean, would it have killed her to admit that hooking up with Chase wasn't smart and that even if she didn't regret the act itself, she did regret the pain it caused Ron? Likewise, I didn't like that she thought she was right not to tell Ron about Chase. Given their ages and the fact that they're in high school, I think she should've told Ron about Chase. Now, if they were in their 20s, then I'd agree with her, but their level of experience, to me, dictates that they be a bit more open about their past dating/sexual history, especially since they know each other so well from being best friends practically their whole lives. After all, did Kim really think Ron wouldn't wonder why she was so good at sex, assuming the two of them eventually got there and Ron hadn't hooked up with Tara? I realize that Kim only had sex twice, but that's enough to have a comfort level and a basic skill set that Ron wouldn't have, and it would be noticeable. On the plus side, I did like that Kim wanted to give them another shot and that she promised to be honest and communicate with Ron in a respectful manner about what she wanted and what was bothering her. It was also nice to have her tell Ron that she wouldn't mind pushing things a little further in their relationship and that Ron had the okay to do just that, and if things ever went too far, she'd let him know without making things awkward between them. And it was nice of Ron to admit why he hadn't tried pushing things a little further and that he admitted to being a bit too judgmental of Kim after he found out about Chase. To be fair, though, Kim didn't really give him a reason to think other than he did about what she'd done, and that's because she wasn't honest with him from the start. As they say, honesty is the best policy. The ending was very nice. I love Kim & Ron as a couple, and I think they're perfect for each other. I don't care what Chase thinks, just because you fall in love in high school, it doesn't mean you can't go the distance. Hell, people used to do that all the time back in the day. It's only in recent times that people feel they have to date dozens of people and have sex with a good portion of them before you can truly decide who you belong with. Personally, I think if you know who's right for you, then it doesn't matter when you know it. If your high school sweetheart is the one for you, then why throw that away in order to hook up with people who aren't right for you? That doesn't mean you have to get married right out of high school, but if your love is true, then fight for it and don't ever let it go. Anyway, it was great seeing Kim and Ron be married, but I have to wonder if Kim will ever find out that Ron had sex with Tara while they were broken up. I don't know how Kim would react to learning that, but I imagine she'd be upset. Of course, given how long they've been together and the fact that they're married, she'd get over it. Still, I wouldn't envy Ron having to explain why he hooked up with Tara and didn't tell Kim. Overall, the concept of this story is a good one. I like that you explored some touchy subjects and did it with class and respect. While I don't agree with all of your choices, I can understand them, and I respect that you had a vision and stuck with it. That said, this wasn't my favorite Kim/Ron story, but I've read worse. Not exactly a ringing endorsement, but at least I didn't hate it. So, good job, and thanks for sharing. :) |
Crimson Candlelight chapter 6 . 3/28 I hate to say this, but I don't trust Tara. I know she said that she wants to help Kim and Ron get back together and that she'd run interference, keeping Bonnie from trying to hook Ron up with some girl just to spite Kim, but it feels like something more than altruism is happening from Tara's side. At the end of the last chapter, I was really worried that Tara might do something rash, like make a move on Ron, in a misguided effort to get Kim and Ron back together. That worry dissipated a bit at the very start of this chapter. Sure, there were some awkward moments between Tara and Ron, which gave their interaction a sort of 'first date' feel. I mean, Ron being super polite, almost overly so, and taking Tara's coat and then not only turning up the furnace but also starting a fire in the fireplace, really felt like something you'd do for a girl you were trying to impress, because you either wanted a second date, or because you were trying to get into her pants. Obviously, Ron isn't trying to do either of those things and is actually that polite and considerate. However, I kept getting a strange vibe from Tara, like she was trying to find a balance between being a friend and trying to comfort Ron in a time of need and being flirty, letting him know that she was interested in him as more than a friend. Granted, most of what they did together was completely innocent, but the dancing felt like Tara was subtly making a move on Ron. I will admit that it was nice of Tara to take an interest in Ron, specifically the things he likes and make an effort to share in some of them, even if they weren't really things she was interested in. Again, that could just be Tara being friendly, but it could also be the first step in her trying to make a move on him. I especially didn't care for her even considering suggesting that she stay over at Ron's, even though she had a cover story and could've gotten away with it, if she'd asked and Ron had agreed. There were definitely hints that more is going on than simple concern for Ron and wanting to get him back together with Kim. To his credit, Ron had the fortitude to resist temptation or even thoughts of temptation, especially when he and Tara were dancing. Of course, if Tara continues to spend time with Ron and continues to act like she did here, I'm really worried that she and/or Ron will cross a line that they shouldn't. Gotta give Monique credit for thinking the same thing, eventually. Makes me wish that Monique would've been the one to stick close to Ron. At least then there'd be no chance AT ALL of anything happening. Staying with Ron, it seems like the poor guy just can't catch a break. No matter what he does, he can't seem to escape Kim, specifically the sadness of not being her boyfriend or even her friend at the moment. Sure, he's got distractions that allow him a few hours respite from his thoughts and sadness, but once the distractions are gone and his mind calms, he's left thinking of Kim, and it's like his heart is ripped out all over again. It was especially depressing when Ron realized that he's still doing things, like playing football or working at Smartymart, he only started because of Kim, to please her or be worthy of her. I hope he realizes that while he may have started doing those things for Kim, they've been a great benefit to him personally, in his growth as a young man and a person. So, even if he and Kim never get back together, their brief time as a couple was good for him and helped him grow up a little. Speaking of growing up, it's nice to see Kim finally realizing that her actions and attitude are in no small part responsible for the mess she and Ron find themselves in. For the longest time, she couldn't even fathom that she might be wrong or responsible for the troubles between her and Ron. At least now she can acknowledge that she didn't treat Ron very well over the years they've known each other, at least when it comes to their relationships with members of the opposite sex. While it's nice to hear Kim admit her faults to Monique, it would be better to have her admit them to Ron. It would also be nice to hear her admit that hooking up with Chase was a mistake. I don't care that it was her choice and that she had every right to make that choice. Just because you make a decision, it doesn't mean that it was a good decision, and I can't see anything good about her hookup with Chase. I mean, look at the trouble it's causing her, the heartache. Any rational person would know that meaningless sex with a stranger isn't worth losing your best friend/boyfriend over. I guarantee you that if Kim loses Ron permanently, as both her boyfriend and best friend, she'll eventually come to regret ever meeting Chase, let alone having sex with him. Staying on the subject of Kim growing up, I thought the conversation with her dad was both awkward and enlightening. From the sound of it, he has no idea that Kim had sex with Chase, which is a good thing, because I don't think Kim's dad would be too pleased to learn that his little girl had sex with a stranger while at a cheer competition. Anyway, I love that her dad was in character, doing his best to relate to Kim but using science as a basis for doing so. He was definitely right about not being good with people and their emotions, because people are unpredictable, whereas science tends to be very predictable and in some ways much easier to understand. Still, I like that he's at least trying to connect with Kim and doing his best to help her with her relationship woes. I also like that he admitted to being okay with her dating Ron. It's a case of Kim's dad not really wanting Kim to date anyone, but since he wants her to be happy, he'd prefer her to date someone he knows will treat her well and love her for who she is as a person and not because of what she looks like or her fame. In Kim's father's eyes, I think Ron is the perfect guy for her, which is a huge compliment to Ron. By the way, I like the premise about Kim and Ron never separating themselves from the friend dynamic, which in turn has made it difficult for Kim to see Ron as a potential mate/lover. Funny how Ron doesn't seem to have that problem, seeing Kim as a potential mate/lover. But, I guess it's just easier for boys to separate girls from the friend dynamic and see them as sexual beings. I also like Kim's dad's idea of Kim making a list of what she wants in a boyfriend and what she has with Ron in terms of him being her boyfriend. I think she'll be surprised that Ron has almost all of the things she wants in a boyfriend. There are still a couple of issues left to deal with before the story wraps up. Will Kim decide that she wants Ron as a lover at some point, or will she realize that while she loves him and enjoys being with him, she's mostly just afraid of losing him to some other girl rather than actually wanting him for herself? And will Ron ever get over his insecurities, at least enough that he can accept that Kim really does love him and won't ditch him the moment some hot guy catches her eye? Personally, I think Kim will have an easier time deciding just where and how she wants Ron in her life than Ron will of overcoming his insecurities. Of course, Kim could be a great help to Ron in dealing with his issues. I'm also curious to see what role Monique and Tara play in what happens between Kim and Ron. I know Monique is doing her best to get through to Kim, and I think it's working, thanks in no small part to the wisdom of Kim's parents. I still don't know what Tara's up to. I was suspicious of her from the start, and the fact that Monique is also suspicious of her motives has me worried. I just hope Tara's good intentions don't set Kim and Ron on a road to hell that sees them permanently separated or removed from each other's lives. One more chapter to go to discover the fate of Kim and Ron's relationship. Don't know if I'm more excited or nervous. |
