| thedwo chapter 1 . 6/26 Even though you've written more, I still wanted to comment on this first chapter. First - it was quite enjoyable. Second - there were a number of acronyms that were not explained when they were first used. Some of them, like GUT or WIMP, could maybe be assumed to be known (even if they are rather esoteric), although they were explained later. But TBT had to wait half the chapter to be explained. Spelling these out fully the first time would be a more standard approach. Of course, they were being used in contexts where the speaker would probably be using an acronym, so I guess you'd need to chose between more accurately reflecting how someone talks/thinks, or not confusing your readers. Third - Now I can see how everyone else will think Humans are insane. After all, they travel back to the beginning of the universe to travel FTL. That's almost as crazy as flying through Hell to travel FTL. |
