   Darkover chapter 2 . 3/27 Dear Linda, This is a fine story-just enough nostalgia to make it warm and familiar, not so much as to make it too sweet. Both chapters as written with your usual talent for expressive and accurate language, and your excellent characterization. There is an element of things coming full circle, a sort of "the more things change, the more they stay the same" aspect to the story. Aragorn is a young man in the beginning, a mature man at last come into his own at the end, and in both cases, he is in the company of a dear friend. And the ale, of course, holds its own! I enjoyed reading this, and you did a fine job of using each chapter to meet the requirements of the challenges. Sincerely, Darkover |

As you know I am in Lotro (Lord of the Rings Online) and see the Pony very well in my mind while reading this. And of course, one cannot say anything against Halbarad! That'll be the most expensive ale in existence by the time it gets there. :P Thanks for adding in this scene. It's cute. Even the still distrustful Breefolk manage to be amusing and not, ah, more annoying. |

It's always nice to see Halbarad, especially since Tolkien, was all Remember the New Guy with Aragorn's dearest human friend. :P 'Course he also shoved Aragorn and Arwen's backstory in the notes with all sorts of random odds and ends too so...yeah. Anyway, it was a good fic, and I'm looking forward to the rest. |
