Why do so many fan-fics focus on Harry's birthday for the Hogwarts letter? Harry's first Hogwarts letter arrived on the 24th July - a week before his birthday. In his second year, it arrived on about the 12th August (1 week after arriving at the Burrow, which was 4 days after his birthday)

Interestingly, while Harry, Ron, Fred and George all received their letters on the same day, we have no record of whether Ginny's first-year letter arrived that day, or several weeks earlier. We do know that Percy's OWL results arrived a week before that (just after Harry's birthday)

At the start of Harry's 6th year, the OWL results arrived about 3 weeks before Harry's Birthday, and the Hogwarts letters arrived the day after.

The problem with this story in general is that a five year old out under his own power is simply utterly unrealistic. The HP universe is filled with these stories and I've never quite figured out why unless one explains it as teenagers writing these stories-and I know for a fact that some of them are coming from older writers who should know better...and no, having house elves take care of him is not a workable loophole since they are ultimately subject to human orders. Unfortunate as some parts of what you are thinking actually have significant potential.

Honestly I find myself disasspointed reading the 3rd chapter why are u hell bent on portraying everything that has happened in canon, do u think it will make a pleasant read ? When we all know the happening of canon and i don't think I can continue with this ff if everything is same like canon just a different harry potter and pairing

I do have to wonder you saying there is a lot of Honks fics. More specifically because you say that for part of the reason this story won't have it and yet this is a Haphne fic. A pairing which has as much if not more stories then the Honks pairing.
Not judging just find it weird.

Will definitely love to see you make a Honks fic at some point though. Same with Harry/Fleur.

i would like to see this be a harryxtonks story.
harry has a different personality than cannon. please don't give him the cannon wand. make up your own wand...,make this story special. also, please keep this story yours by maybe mentioning cannon stuff, but having ron as a friend, harry not accepting dracos friendship/aliance, harry ending up in gryfindor.
harry has had time to become more aware, so ron asking harry about his scar, not off to a good start.
harry not acceptiong dracos aliance, he has no reason not to, just because he insulted ron...who he just met, decides to not accept an aliance at least.
harry knows about his parents, but he should know that they would want him to go where he wants, not just...'oh, draco was mean, i don't want to be in slytherin, or my parents were grifindor, therefore i have to live up to their memory, no i say.
have harry be his own person.

Interesting. However, Harry got his first Hogwarts letter a week BEFORE his birthday. Did the Dursleys get flooded with letters and then arrange for Harry to be there on his birthday?
