I am happy that, at the very least, you are fully aware of your evilness... Because this chapter was indeed very FUCKING EVIL!

Oi! That epilogue was nasty! Here I was basking in the glow of Laura having just cried out how loved and wanted and NEEDED Natasha is, AND THEN YOU DID THAT! What gives?! Now I'm all pumped up for a sequel that is NOT HAPPENING YET!

I've gotta say though that scene under the tree was just breathtaking - Laura just playing with Nat's hair all alone with this really strange calm surrounding them. I love how the chapter just felt like this really long exhale of relief after a long-ass fic filled with a whole shitton of pain!

I also really loved that entire conversation at the end. At first, I thought it was kinda selfish for Laura to be crying so much when Nat was the one who almost died. Then I realized that she was also crying for herself! She is crying because one of the people she loves most does not understand just how loved and valued she is! She is crying because the possibility that she almost lost her best friend just hit her! And said best friend could apparently care less that she'd die for as long as her family is safe!

That entire convo could be summed up with "don't you know how much I love you?". And it makes my heart race every time I think about it!

And then, at long fucking last, NATASHA GETS IT! I was already with Laura at that point, more than ready to argue and fight tooth and nail to get Natasha to understand. But then Nat just softens, and oh my god! I almost cried there!

Natasha finally gets that she's loved! She looks at Laura and sees that all this time, it's never been enough for just Clint to come home! Laura has been waiting for her too! Natasha is loved, and she now has every goddamn reason to come back home!

What a beautiful chapter! I'm definitely really looking forward to how the sequel will go!

Oi! This is so goddamn mean! I found this fic in ao3, and only now realized that there is a much longer version here! I'm both really goddamn happy and really fucking crushed right now!
On the one hand, I'm so goddamn in love with how you write Natasha and Laura! Their relationship is just so fucking beautiful and healing! I 've so loved following their journey together here!
On the other hand, I'm way too goddamn invested in them already! I know they aren't the main ship, but I've sadly imprinted on their relationship! They love each other so much, and I love that! I'm kinda they aren't endgame here, but oh well... I can pretend. I love this fic too much already!
Also, that last line just fucking murdered me! It's well-established by now that Nat will die for just about any of the Bartons, and this realization is scaring Laura shitless. The fact that Nat won't even consider her life on par with Clint's in terms of importance is just heartbreaking!
(I'm kinda hoping that someone will eventually yell at Nat and really goddamn explicitly spell out for her just how loved she is. Nat is functioning under the belief that her death won't devastate as many people as Clint's would. I'm really hoping that belief would be corrected eventually!)
Also, I'm kinda scared now about how far you'll take this fic. Because I don't think I can take this fic exploring stuff like endgame! Don't get me wrong! I'll definitely read it! I'm just gonna die right after too!
