Many parts of SAO were rather rushed, and the anime made that worse, but that is not much of a surprise...The musics and OSTs are damn great, though.
Anyway...Since I tend to look for longer fics so I can binge read, I will stop here.
Until this get a bit longer and ran through 10 or so chapters at once, I will see if I want to track and continue reading...
And I doubt that I will review/comment much even if I do return to read...

The Progressive Novel is a light Retcon and Rewrite from the Reki Kawahara because the original version disappointed him, and is considered the new canon for the 'first 10 floors'. And it is certainly written better than the original version...But there are also people who prefer the original. So...eh.

Season 3 of SAO, or SAO 2, is where the meme of Sinon Ass Online became a thing. And Sinon can be considered to be the best character in that.

It also show an ugly side of the modern Japanese Law Abiding Mass toward the acts of defending oneself with lethal force. Sinon's social life got fucked over by that until she got to know Kirito and gang who accept her despite that, mainly because THEY had killed in the defense of oneself and others too.

In Anime Asuna didn't kill anyone due to 'protect waifu' usually seen in anime from the era with Kirito taking 3 lives, but in the manga, Asuna did take a life, and Kirito took 2.
And I feel even that is kind of optimistic for the situation that they are stuck with, but I am not the author...nor a Japanese. And technically speaking, he can already be considered a Veteran by the standard of medieval warfare.

Alicization? It's not my thing so I haven't read or watched it. But many others do see it as the best arc of SAO

the film seemed more commercial than anything else.

the screenwriters have, for the duration of the film, Suguha a Kendo champion / vice-champion in ... a Kendo training camp!
... only because she was able to kick Eiji's buttocks!

for me, the only interest of the film was to introduce characters Eiji, Yuna who didn't appeared in the novel and of course to serve appetizer pending Alicization Arc!

I have not read Progressive unfortunately because not being a fan of Kirisuna.
I just know it's a rewrite of the original novel, the author having no time to properly develop his story, adding more bosses, characters, events ... the main focus being Kirisuna.
