Dayum! And here I thought it couldn't get any weirder, and then you prove me wrong. Such a unique Avatar AU, with dragons and all that jazz, including even the exploitation and enslavement, it's quite fascinating really.

Have you considered spinning it into it's own thing? The lack of Avatar-centric politics already makes it noticeably different in tone and concept; it would probably need next to no alteration past like, names.
And Zuko's face is not coloring with rage... so Sokka's right? Part right?

Am interested to see where you take this. There aren’t enough dragon!Zuko stories...

Did some rereading, which led to some pining. I want more of this strange world where dragon blood flows through human veins and the war's obviously gone quite differently. With their blockade, the Southern Water Tribe doesn't seem as badly off as in the cartoon. Zuko's exile wasn't for disrespect and "cowardice", but for refusal to submit to his father, at least in dragon form.
I wonder where the others fit in? Sokka is himself, clever and observant, just living in a different world. There's nothing about Katara yet. Do the bending forms exist here? How is the Avatar going to fit? I had the weirdest thought that he might be the other black dragon. It's apparently unique or at least incredibly rare. Then I remembered how Toph's parents raised her as a secret and imagined her as a dragon (maybe even still blind, her veiled eyes hiding what she was until it was too late- her parents loved her and killing their baby girl was inconceivable). Anyway, I look forward to seeing what you actually have in mind!
