Alex B. Goode chapter 1 . 8/19 It was awesome |
Miko Eiko chapter 1 . 6/6 Me hizo sentir muy triste así que es genial creo |
icecatfire chapter 1 . 6/1 Everything was PERFECT. :D Megan got in trouble for her actions, but she wasn't hated by anyone or bashed. She was/will be punished, POSSIBLY watched closer, and that will be the end of it. Yeah, she'll kind of have to EARN their trust back, but the love will still be there. |
FanBob FicPants chapter 1 . 5/30 I now consider this the show's unofficial finale. |
Jack Mihoff chapter 1 . 5/21 This was a very interesting story it would have been better if megan was dinner or megan got curb stomped by josh at 2 in the morning also what is josh without drake also something that i would have liked some gritty scenes if you catch my drift but overall 9.3/10 nice job kiddo. |
Guest chapter 1 . 5/21 Ok, this is epic. But it would’ve been cooler if Meg died like the scumbag that she is |
Guest chapter 1 . 1/4 It was perfect loved it |
CHOOSELIFE chapter 1 . 9/11/2019 Ugh, I loved this! It was such a great concept and idea and you nailed it. You didn’t take it too far and get weird or sexual like a lot of D&J fanfics. It was just a simple day in the life of the Parker-Nichols fam. Usually, Drake’s dad’s painted to be some abusive guy (I’m guilty of this), but I like how he was just like a normal dad with ups and downs in the relationship. The characterization was great. You described the two boys especially well in the way that they cope and I think that fits who they actually are in the show. You and I have a similar writing style. Not exactly topic-wise, but vocabulary-wise. I feel like we structure our sentences similarly and use a lot of the same words and phrases. I always wondered what my writing was like using someone else’s words so that I wasn’t biased, so I hope it’s as clear as yours. There were some misspellings I noticed, if you’re looking for constructive criticism. Not too many, though. If you read for the fandom as well, maybe you’d be interested in checking out my stuff? I’m working on a series about Drake struggling with addiction and the first of the (so far) trilogy is called Charlie Freak. Okay, shameless plug over. I was really looking forward to seeing the Megan/Drake conversation at the end, so I’m hoping this isn’t a one-shot? There’s not a lot of cute Drake/Megan sibling moments and I think this fandom needs more. Anyway, I’m gonna add this to my alerts in case you do more. I’m so glad I read this and I hope you write more for D&J, hopefully Drake-centered because I don’t usually read anything else. Also, the angst was great, so keep that coming. |
ko777 chapter 1 . 8/21/2019 Ya i’d Say you did but it’s ok one question though? |
Ani Isilee chapter 1 . 8/13/2019 Oh, dear. So THAT'S why Megan was so cruel to Drake and Josh. I've read one or two other fics with Megan getting her "just desserts" but this one may actually be my favorite so far. Of course Drake's not the type to wear his feelings on his sleeve and Megan misinterpreted that as Drake not caring about what happened... which made him an easy scapegoat for her grief-fueled anger. People tend to look for something/someone to blame when something bad happens, especially when tragedy is the result ("If it wasn't for 'xyz' this wouldn't have happened!") It's a way for people to find a reason and regain a sense of control ("If I don't do 'xyz' again, then this won't happen again"). But we can't always foresee how an event will play out. That's the nature of the future; it's not certain. What we CAN do is be more mindful of our actions in the present, and hopefully Megan's learned her lesson on that here (and I'm talking about both her unresolved grief and about her treatment of her brothers). Everyone's in character and this could have easily fit into the series had they decided to expand on Megan's character and the family's past (Josh's bio-mother and Drake/Megan's bio-father). They had so many chances to explore Megan's character and motives more and didn't which is frustrating to say the least. Megan was funny to me at first, but I did hate how she rarely (if ever) got into trouble for her "pranks." My thoughts are all over the place here, so I'll end this by saying you did an excellent job! |
