If you're willing to write it, then I'm willing to read it.

Character X as companion to Character Y tends to lead to all sorts of butterflies compared to canon. Unlike Character X is Character Y, when it's often a close variant of canon.

So the former is a lot more interesting than the latter, least to me anyway.

Having said that, feel free to drop hints, comments and maybe a flashback or two in this story as Chekhov's guns and foreshadowing for the prequel.

It'll stoke anticipation towards getting the whole story, rather than just c*ck teasing references.

Would've taken Jaune as more of an Ebony gear user, rather than Dragonbone.

The Sword? No comment on that.. The weapons vary too much between the games, unlike the armour which is fairly consistent.

Speaking of gear.. Could Jaune make gear that stylistically looks like Dwarven/Dwemer craft, but is made say of ebony?

As Dwarven Gear most matches the look that Pyrrha goes for. (But its defensive value sucks compared to the top tier armors. Different material should alter that.)

Just as Nora would rock the Njord or Daedric style (latter might be more appropriate, seeing how she's willing to become the Champion for Mr. Cheese) and Ren the Nightingale maybe Ancient Shrouded?

Yeah, Ren seems like the Restoration school type at the least. Less so Destruction or Illusion (the latter would be more a Blake thing). Not sure about the other schools.

Nora, if she had the skill or patience for it? Destruction all the way. Girl loves her big booms too much to be anything else.

Not as if they could mess up Remnant more than it already is really. Remnant meets the classification of Death World courtesy of the Grimm.

Tamriel even with all its hostile critters does not. It's a classic fantasy world really, where things are balanced between the varying sides. Dangerous? Definitely. But people aren't huddling in a few strongholds hoping to survive.

No such balance exists on Remnant where Grimm outnumber the combined forces of Faunus kind and Remnant by AT LEAST 10 to 1, probably more.
