I do not know how we could help. This story can go every way you want.

Do you have the ending in mind? What is you goal in this story? I think with this somewhere written it could help, if you stuck.

What are your characters? Sure you use the HP Cast but it is a fanfiction so check some facts about them. At first everything classic like name, age, favourite color, house, lineage etc. This could be more than you will even publish in this story. But some infos help if you hit a wall.
Then the important questions to thid story. Ask this questions to the search group, outside characters and for each character in the group and of course Harry himself and any other original character.

- why do they search for Harry Potter?what is/are the reason/s of the group?
- what is/are the personal reason/s of one person?What will they do if they have found him?How interact the group with each member?Why is not an other person part of the group?

Since Harrys life would be different to the books ... you need his full CV and more about him.

Do you want to openly bash Dumbledore? Why does he want to control Harry? How could he be able to? Will it even be possible? Will Harry play along and see what they want? Or will he openly show his colors and work against Dumbledore?

At this time it looks like this will be Severus and Dumbledore bashing. An adult (a teacher at that) who openly say someone is spoiled without knowing the person or have seen and interact with it...
Has Dumbledore more hidden reasons why he wants Harry in his clutches or why he needs him?

Minerva ... will she be blind to Dumbledores actions? Will she follow everything he says or does she have her own reasons? Will she protect/help Harry, even against orders from Dumbledore?

Tonks ... why is the young metamorph part of the group? Is she a cadet or junior auror? what are her reasons and what is more important in her opinion? Family, the Order, her working responsibilities?

Sirius ... okay he was incarcerates (how long) and wants to know his godson is save and sound. Hm.. its this question that is easy answered by the pirates. The person named Harry Potter is healthy and lives now go your way.

But what are the other reasons? Does he want to get to know Harry? Will he see James in Harry or know that his godson is not his old friend? how is his health after Askaban? Does he want Harry to live with him or would he live where Harry wants to? How are his feelings for the ministry, Dumbledore and co? How is he free?

The Pirates: How do they interact with Harry. What are there characters. why are they pirates or how did they become sailors? Will they protect Harry against Magical? And so on...

Please do not answer this questions in an AN or in the next chapter. This are questions for you as a writer to know the answer of maybe even to write some down in a notebook or somewhere else. They are questions that could help you with that writers block.

As a writer you knew more about your characters and there reasons and quirks than the reader. Oh... I did forget one really important question: What are the characters failures? I mean what can he/she not do and why? Is he good with a pistole but bad with a sword? Yep ... you need to now which are your characters skills good and bad. Since you do not want a Mary/ Gary Sue.

I hope I could give you some ideas to work around your block.

Good start. Though hope to see longer chapters in the future.

Yay! Thank you so much for fixing the formatting! This is a great story so far! Are the other pirates wizards and witches too? Because one of them complained about being called a muggle. I can’t wait to read more and I’m looking forward to your next update!
