Will we get an update? Will wait for the next chapter
Sasoi-sama chapter 12 . 7/6
Great story, great writing. There’s already too many heroic shirou fics, so I’m fascinated by the few that explore the “literally-inhuman-mindset” shirou, all the more so when they explore the less common nasuverse stuff and they’re well paced, well characterized and with good formatting. Looking forward to the next chapter

TheDisturbedDragon chapter 12 . 6/24
So, I just found this story today. I love it. The idea of Shirou distancing himself from humanity to the point that he becomes an Apostle through his Reality Marble? Beautiful. Unique, too, I’ve never seen anyone else go in that direction. He gets bitten, sure, a SINO does some ritual, sure, even taking Angra Mainyu into himself and becoming a demon. I’ve seen stories where he can manifest swords beneath or even through his skin, regrowing arms with metal blades and such, but this takes it to a whole new level. Slight nitpick – his Marble doesn’t manifest until he gets Archer’s arm. Archer doesn’t get it until years into the Path of the Shura. That said, I can accept Sumire detecting the nascent Marble and accidentally causing him to mature it early.
Moreover, I love how you’ve characterized him. His lack of emotional association is very fitting – a sword doesn’t care if it’s being used to defend or to attack – and makes him appear more inhuman while giving him a major downside to his transformation. Sumire is done very well – I’m unsure of how much stuff there is on her in canon so I can’t say if it’s realistic or not, but based on other characters I’d assume you know your stuff. Taiga’s helpless “what do I do” is very realistic, she’s struggling with self-doubt and loathing, she wants to protect Shirou but realizes her own helplessness, all in all it’s a very good portrayal. Rin is a bit too quick to get a crush – she’s always portrayed more as a Magus than a decent person, even in fics where she’s on the side of the angels – and Shirou is a massive danger to her, her life’s work, and will actively draw more threats to Fuyuki. I get self-preservation as a driving force behind her Geass idea, but they were planning to leave already. She stopped that. It just is a bit off to me.
And then there’s Saber. Or Arturia, as the case may be. Hoo boy. I look forward to the eventual meeting between the two of them. I can either see it going really badly (“You’re Kiritsugu’s son? IMMEDIATE EXCALIBUR!”) or really well (“I have you to thank for returning Avalon, and you were screwed over by Kiritsugu too, we should start a hate-club”). I think it depends on whether or not she’s aware that Shirou was the one to return Avalon. I’d bet Vivianne would at least tell her Sumire gave it to her, and that a Japanese boy was the one to send it her way. If he could sense it and address her about it, that could neatly avert the former. Honor would mean she owed him a life debt. One thing I’m curious of – I couldn’t find it if you did address it – but how exactly does Arturia know the war is probably starting early? I mean canonically nobody realized until the seals appeared, considering it was forty four (I think it was 6 years after the Fire, IDK) years earlier than they’d predicted. And while she may be Fey, I don’t think Vivianne has precognition.
Scathach is an interesting idea – from my own experience she turns up more in crossovers than in actual Type-Moon stories, because it’s hard to use someone who the world has literally thrown in a dark hole and destroyed the key. And said character is hated by both Gaea and Alaya to the point that they’d WORK TOGETHER to kill her. I do have some concerns on this – namely that Arturia is a good fighter, but Scathach is the GODSLAYER and an immortal who might very well have known the Saxons Arturia slaughtered in war. I can’t say I’d expect her to look kindly on a British Knight. Moreover, if Scathach teaches her, I can very well see both Gaea and Alaya quarantining her in the Land of Shadows as well because they hate Scathach THAT FREAKING MUCH. If she starts spreading her teachings, I’d expect TYPES and Apostles to get mental “Go here, wait for the women with high amounts of prana, and ambush her/them” prods. Even Arturia and Scathach combined couldn’t hope to fight a TYPE (surviving it, yes, beating a thing without the concept of death, no), let alone Primate Murder. Can’t remember if Nasu said PM could kill Scathach or not, but probably yes. And Saber is now human once more, and thus vulnerable.
One thing I am curious of is whether or not Saber will recognize Illya. She was very close to Irisviel, and would probably want to protect her child out of duty. She failed to protect the mother, her fault or not, and honor is prickly like that.
Speaking of Illya, oh boy does she not know what she’s getting into. Hercules is strong. He’s probably capable of going one on one against just about any servant but Gilgamesh (or anyone with anti-regen or anti-revival NPs). He’s not strong enough to face Marble Phantasm or Reality Marbles. Shirou probably would just go for Illya anyway – he hasn’t really demonstrated the same “protect the innocent” vibe as in canon, due to not wanting to be a hero of justice. While he definitely can’t kill Hercules as is, he is basically unkillable by Berserker, as he can just regenerate his swords indefinitely.
If he manages to harness a further power of his Sword-body (“Swords Cut through things. Therefore I can [Cut] through things.”) Shirou might actually be able to win. I imagine eventually his Sword abilities will be closer to Salvatore Doni out of Campione – who is able to cut through anything, including any sort of defensive ability, temporal locks, and dimensions.
Of course, considering he’s already got plans to leave Fuyuki, all of this might be irrelevant if he just leaves before the War. I have to say that’d feel like such a waste and a cop-out, but it is possible.
So now that I’ve written a 1000 word review, and no doubt overwhelmed you with questions and suggestions, I just want to sum it up.
TL;DR: Great story, interesting characters, keep up the good work.
I hope 1044 words impresses on you just how much I love this story. I’ll be following it avidly.

On boy things are starting to get interesting
Guest chapter 12 . 6/20
Hey, this Taiga was reasonable and she not the usual antic Taiga-ness! She was really worried for Shirou, and poor Rin her crush was definitely a metal function. And wait till she meets the other vampire who would love to have her blood bathtub lol

Oh dear, Rita was going to bath in tohsaka’s blood?!

The Richmaster chapter 12 . 6/20
I like the way you're showing the strain to the relationships of Sumire and Rita as well as Shirou and Suire; that sort of thing could definitely test trust hashly

Nero's thoughts on Shirou were pretty interesting and I am curious to see what Louvre will do to prepare in his own way

And this might be one of the most trying tests that Arthuria will ever face
hideki667 chapter 12 . 6/20
Why is she saying sumire taught RM wrong? IF anything she taught it correctly as Shirou is the only human around who could use it and she just turned him into a really strong DA. Rin seems like shes just trying too hard to make herself look intelligent and useful.
Undying Soul98 chapter 12 . 6/20
Excellent chapter. A lot of interesting things are afoot. Artoria's journey is an interesting one, I like the dynamic between Chaos, Shirou and Louvre and also quite like Taiga's role. I'm curious to see what role she plays in the greater story.

This is one of the few Fate stories to tackle the wider Nasu world, and I love how you are using the Tsukihime pieces. Hoping to see more of this story soon. Good luck with your writing! Undying Soul out.
Anime Enthusiast chapter 12 . 6/20
Nice...i must say, i'm quite eager to the part when they meet hopefully to be trained together. Though i wonder what kind of relationship they will have. I really hope they can be together.
