Great new chapter, it was the waiting, so Vault is only the image not the Brains. Well i will enjoy the look on his face when he discovers that, thougth I hate Maya now... Pretty good chapter.

I *was* wondering how were Reginald's guys getting their powers from without turning undead, so suffice to say im pretty hyped for the Path/trail of shadows reveal. Because while Reginald's is obviously nothing to scoff that, i dont think he by himself would have the powers to make that amount of people into DKs even if he wanted to.

Speaking of which, while i do think The Hand of Suffering is nowhere near as dammed as the OG Ebon Blade i can see *why* our resident DK is spreading the ideology around since this version of Eostia is even worse than the OG (as in canon the Shields were merely incompetent where here Alicia, Celestine and Maia at least are also awful in their own ways), he obviously needs to clean up the whole country and this is not only what he knows best but also only route left.

I just dont see what his endgame is though. He tried to get Celestine to actually run the country properly and only succeded with Kaguya (who is leaving when she's done here, good for her), it was also implied that Olga *should* have been a goner by now but the plan has changed... so i can only assume the new plan is to tear and everything and everyone down, prop Olga as Celestine 2.0 and stay as her "right hand man" -the man behind the man, rather- to unsure she doesnt slip back into old habits?

Then again, that is for me to wonder and for you to know? Im waiting for the next chapter, is what im saying.

Speaking of Olga, i dont really think she'd be all that scared by the Ebon Blade's ideology, since, you know, were she capable she would absolutely wrecked humanity/high elfs as a whole and in this version of Eostia she had even more reasons than in canon. Shocked, for sure, but not scared.

Kuroinu deconstructions are fun to read but I just cant bring myself to read this no matter how much I want to. The summary is... Awful, its cringe. Its like something out of he naruto fanfic section from 2008. I don’t know if the story is any good, but the summaries half-assed grammar- Actually, to be honest it isn’t THAT bad. Its one line that ruins it entirely. “In Eostia they condemns that what is not humans, for centuries only humans were seen as pure and good.” This is some mandarin-chinese google-translate fuckery right here is what it is. Its technically understandable but it makes me wanna throw up. Its inaccurate to the setting in general(aside from discriminating against d&d first edition japanese rape-happy pig-men, there isn’t much racial hate from the common people. Nobles? Yes. But thats because they are caricature dark fantasy hentai narbles) and gives of this fursecution vibe because of the worgen protagonist. Having seen comments on tvtropes it likely relates to the fact that you have azeroth orcs in the story as well as the protag but its not shown in the text. Summaries are important, they directly display the skill of the writer and are usually taken as an example of the average writing quality for the fic as a whole.

The most important part is that Olga DOES care about normal people and for all her talk, doesn't really hate anyone who doesn't personally do something to deserve it. If she sees these people as her subjects or followers, then she will do her best for them regardless of what she claims about it. And, unlike Celestine, Olga actually knows she isn't perfect and calls out shit instead of burying her head in the sand.

It's amusing how we can see the similarities between Celestine and Olga in this chapter. Olga hating humans in a previous chapter for things we don't have reason to believe are true, and Celestine basically encouraging corruption and stomping on innocents due to refusing to believe herself wrong. They're really quite similar, far more than either of them realizes.
