I honoestly don't see why so many reviewers are bent out of shape over changing the rooky's gender. Its done in games quite frequently. I personally want to give you props for not going the usual route by having the rooking crash into the emerald forest, get noticed by Ozpin, fights off Grimm, is brought back by RWBY, and then becomes Beacons next student/teacher. Of course there is always the next chapter. Will you succumb to the temptation to follow the formula in that one. We shall see.

Just came back from 3 weeks of camping, hopped on to read the new chapter and I got two words for, HOLY FUCK! Dude you got some balls to make Yang such I wreck, I respect that!

Honestly with the bullets, it may be true for modern ones not being that much more powerful than dust ones, but Halo ammunition is 500 years into the future. Just look at a musket ball compared to a rifle bullet today. The UNSC has better propellant and materials to make stronger bullets, as it isn't just gameplay balance that has the UNSC guns ripping through energy shields. That's my biggest problem with a lot of Halo/RWBY crossovers. However just by herself she doesn't have the tools to make more ammunition so I don't see why you're not representing it's strength properly.

Nice chapter. I understand not wanting to make Rookie OP but she now has a limited amount of UNSC made ammo, so to restrict the use of OP rounds make it's use limited. But it's your story, you can right it how ever you want as long as it's not garbage.

Also I forgot to tell you that the M90 shotgun uses Soellkraft 8 gauge shells, best to look it up on the website 'Halo Alpha'.

So Rookie is not a Spartan right, and doesn't have MJOLNIR? Then I guess I'm fine with her having an Aura, but the only thing I ask is that she finds the whole concept of Hunter fights to be ridiculous, they fight like they are putting on a show for people, which is fine, if you're in a tournament, NOT on the actual fucking battlefield, when you think about, it's even more ridiculous that their criminals and terrorists fight that way. Finally, I've seen a lot of stories where the UNSC soldier doesn't even act like one, I would like for her to act at least somewhat like an actual member of the military she is apart of.

So Ruby is obviously out of the picture, and Rookie's eyes are grey according to ol' Ozzie. In the first chapter, I thought that she was just isekai'ed Ruby, and (even with his comment about her eyes 'lacking the magic') I still do; especially given Yang's reaction. Though if there's no time fuckery, it's more likely to be Summer.

Nice touch with Yang taking her sister's name. The only issue I see with it is that every time an adult addresses 'Miss Rose' (if it turns out that Rook is, indeed, Ruby; otherwise this falls apart) they'll have to ask which one.

Other than that, the only actual mechanical complaint I could find was that I personally think the chapters are a little short, but its not THAT big of a deal, tbh ( there are some stories out there with sub-1k chapters). That may just be a personal taste thing on my part, though.

Sans the above issue (which I cannot stress enough that it's NOT a big problem), this is shaping up to be a good story and I can't wait to read more.

Good start. I think over estimated the average persons Aura level or under estimated UNSC weapon damage. An M7S smg with a full mag can brake the shields and kill a Brute minor, while an M90 shotgun can out right kill one if close enough. Most, if not all, UNSC weapons use AP rounds and are made to take on the Covenant's shields and armor. I understand why Roman didn't die but I think most of the goons should of dropped like flies.

Anyway, look forward to seeing more.
