Though it looks like you’re nearing the impossible task of coming up with a reasonable explanation for a hentai plot: why Vault betrayed his employers( one of which is a close friend who has a crush on him), and why Knight won’t just curbstomp the Black Dogs the second they turn on him (he is practically invincible, it’d be pretty hard to stop an Undead God-killer with near infinite revives, even if he has no real equipment *coughbrokenbroken straightswordcough* ). That last point is especially important, since I’ve seen some MCs that are more than capable of annihilating Vault and his mercs but decide to shoot themselves in the foot for no good reason other than allowing the author to stick to the plot line where the Princess Knights get rekt. That’s okay, but it should be done in a way that is plausible (like MC having to keep Maia safe, or her, Olga, and Chloe safe should they try to GTFO). Also, why are there never any other loyal retainers around Olga, like other dark elves whose equality she’s fighting for? Does that mean she just has a bigass horde of monsters?Sorry for the rant but I’m passionate about my goddamn hentai.

I love Maia and the Chosen Undead's interactions. It feels like they are gonna be the best of friends by the end of this fanfic which is very nice.

I gotta say this is my most favorite version of the Chosen Undead I've ever seen in fanfiction. Seeing the Chosen Undead as a mute,powerful,badass but actually has a heart of gold and is a big softie just makes him so damn lovable to me.

His personality also makes his backstory all the more tragic. The fact that almost everyone he met back then either died or went hollow, sometimes due to his own actions. I can't imagine his reaction over The Fair Lady, Solaire's insanity, Sif's demise, Artorias' tragedy, and Laurentius' events probably shattered his heart and plagued his mind with guilt.

The Chosen Undead is a kind hearted soul born into a cold, unforgiving world.

Dude this fic is a GEM. How did you make the protagonist of one of the most darkest video game series be so adorable and kind?! His interactions with little Anna and her mother was so damn heartwarming. I'm genuinely enjoying this more than the "The Night Unfurls" series ngl. Thank you truly for writing this fic!

Also seems like they're gonna raid Olga's castle soon. I seriously hope Sir Knight kick Vault's (a.k.a Piece of Trash) ass in the inevitable betrayal.

Poor Maia, making her be all sneaky and stuff. The dynamic between her and the MC is a lot fun, even with the one-sided dialogue.

Knight makes for a good narrator, his curiosity adds a sense of wonder to even mundane things.

And yeah, Celestine is probably scared for good reason, even if Knight is on her side.

The story continues to be oddly cute despite the setting, I approve.

The farewell was well done, as well as how Knight has basically accepted that he's wrapped around Anna's finger and that that makes people misunderstand.

Also, Maia's been pretty cool so far, and she seems to get shit on a lot in fanfics, so that's a nice touch as well.

I think it would have been kinda funny if the Knight remained utterly oblivious to the setting, just 'goes for a walk' because the bad things are thataway, ends the war, comes back home to chill with the little girl and her mom.

Speaking of the little girl and her mom, that scene where they snuggled with the Knight was cute as hell.

Also, I really liked Maya's perspective on the fight, made it a lot of fun.

It's like some sort of macabre fairytale, and I love it.

The way the main character is just sort of a passive observer, finally moving when he has a purpose to do so really gripped me.

That, and the small child is safe, of which I wholeheartedly approve.
