This was great. I love the way he met the eagle at different stages of his life, and how there were many parallels between the state eagle was in and his own. And also the way he just adapted to the situation, like with Alex or the eagle, not drilling them for answers or trying to force them into anything. Happy Spyfest

Zyz, this was great! I really liked your characterization of Eagle. The whole story had bits of humor and a sort of bittersweet tone to it? It fit very well.

The one part about Wolf writing his reports in crayon sent me crying hahah. I can just imagine this tough guy leaning over his papers and writing his report in multiple colors AH. Kind of reminds me of the time my professor graded our exams in highlighter...

I also really liked the myth you incorporated into the story. The link isn't showing up, but if you want to plop that link somewhere on discord, I'd love to take a look at it!

Anyway, I agree with Nightshade—I really liked the ending of "eagles are meant to fly free"! So many parallels!

Wow, I really like the thread of mystery running through this, with it being the same eagle. And - whoa, sudden realisation - if the myth was about an eagle having a warrior brother, is that a parallel for this? Eagle being an SAS soldier and all. Love it.

Eagle's characterisation was also great. Privately felt a connection to the bird, but he never stopped being a laid-back, anything goes kind of guy. And the ending was great with the whole "Eagles are meant to fly free" line, like there's a bit more depth to him than his friends might realise.
