Reviews for Silence of the Hare REMASTERED
CasterWay chapter 1 . 1/6
Now that is how to leave your readers hooked!

I didn’t expect you to treat a six-year-old hare like that, but you captured the essence of her emotions really well - something I can’t really do.

I never belonged to the fandom, but I watched all three movies, and a few Wuxia TV series as well. Most Wuxia heroes have tragic backstories (think superheroes, but ancient China), and Yin Bei seems to be no exception. I kinda like her as a child, due to the fact that she has to grow a lot as a character, both physically and mentally, in order to face what is in front of her.

Keep up the good work! I can’t wait to see what happens next! May your heart be your guiding key!
Berserker88 chapter 1 . 7/4/2019
It's been a long time indeed, but it's good to see you back at this again, along with our mutual friend, Yin Bei. So far, the setup is fairly similar, but with some significant changes like some added scenes and expanding on old ones, as I would expect from any good remaster. Yin Bei is still as cute and lovably badass as ever, while Yang Chao's sense of humor and his quirky minions always make me want to see more of them. I'm looking forward to catching up to where we were, but also seeing what changes in the interim. Good work! :)
The Grey Coincidence chapter 1 . 7/3/2019
Grey, IN! Grey, INTRIGUED! Grey, EXCITED!
I am very glad to see this up again. The overall plot of the first chapter is more or less the same as last time, buuuut, me being me I combed through both versions to point out all the little details. Well, I would have- but I didn't have time to cross-reference. Soooo a few differences off the top of my head.
The first one that really stands out is Master Swift Hare's death- I'm pretty sure it happened off-screen last time. Here, not only does it happen, but it introduces the Death Touch in the first chapter. As great as the first version of events were- Swift causing a distraction that allowed sweet Bei to get away- I think this works better narratively- shows us exactly what the Death Touch can do, immediately. I'm pretty sure it was introduced around mid-way-ish through teh E'Jile arc last time, right? So still relatively early on, but i think right from the start is better. Bei may also not be old enough to understand death exactly... buuuuut she is old enough to be semi-permeneantly traumatised by watching her father's death. Who wouldn't be?
That so far seems like the biggest change- although the first one I noticed was that this is T-rated. I still expect it to be brutal of course, but I was always ever-so-slightly skeptical of it being M. Ratings can be difficult but so far all of this fits nicely into T territory. That said I still *can* see you doing a bunch of stuff that may or may not push the boundaries a little.
I don't remember the first scene happening the first time around. I'm pretty sure it started with Yin Bei waking up because of a noise? I think this is definetly a plus. Bei may be too young to understand much, but I think it's important to show how close she was to her father/guardians. Especially since she didn't get much screen-time with dear old dad. He doesn't seem like a bad father in any respect which only makes the Yang Chao scene that much more confusing. Swift probably wasn't always that nice of course, but I don't think it's possible that he is entirely responsible for... *that*. You know, one theory I just had about Yang Chao is that he *isn't* Yang Chao- like... maybe he's being possessed/controlled by some sadistic being? One of those Alien Gods I assume should still crop up eventually? Perhaps this is a stretch and my only textual evidence is the 'one who calls himself her brother'- which er- could just be brother unless you are trying to hide something...
Ejile doesn't seem as competent a villain here- I mean he's no idiot but... he is... And Yang Chao is genre savvy. Should've hopped into the cupboard Bei :P
What else- yes. No bat with guns... No hippo in an apron (but there is a lizard that seems to fit... their role as sadistic chef?) And the weasel has become a mink. Or was he a mink all along? I'm not sure.
It's funny, I've written quite a few remasters- but this is the first one I've read. I kiiiinda know where the story is going (at least, for this chapter) but the joy is in seeing all the little tweaking here and there.
Quite a good start methinks, as usual no need to rush yourself (writing a novel sounds... hectic to be honest) but my catchphrase must live on!
Update soon.
King of KFP chapter 1 . 6/30/2019
OMG OMG OMG! THE FANFIC GOD IS BACK! ALL HAIL THE OC KING!
I really loved this story the first time, was really worried you would never finish it. But it looks like you've got some motivation and I must say I really like the remastery so far. I read your last fic aaaaaaaaaages ago can't see many differences here but it doesn't matter- this is back and it's definetly gonna be better and I am just so excited right now!
Without you and Berserker around there are basically no good writers to read and I was beginning to get worried you guys would never return! That doesn't seem to be the case now and I'm glad Yin Bei is back and socking people's faces! I love this fic, I love Yin Bei andthis made my day!
