Why did she, by the way? Hermione knows very well that Bellatrix is not the only one with a dark mark employed as a Professor by Headmaster Dumbledore. Does "I would trust Severus Snape with my life" not ring a bell to her? Is Hermione so foolish to think that Albus knows about one of his professors who bares the dark mark and not any others? Bellatrix obviously didn't do anything magical to hide it if Hermione managed to spot it.
