Tangent chapter 2 . 3/27
Well, the magical ability to cure diseases would certainly explain why the Go'uld want to wipe out the populations of any worlds that produce magical girls. Especially if magical girls are so easy to replace.

Pity that the latest magical not-really-a-girl is also a dimension hopping superspy with an expertise for rising up from a severe underdog advantage. Pity for them that is!

KrisB-71854 chapter 2 . 8/12/2019
I enjoyed the first chapter far more than this one. It was mainly the info dump on the various BT stuff that had me rather confused and meh. I'm somewhat aware of the basics of the BT setting, but all the named mecha warriors were tech shades of grey bad guys/nobles/as you said mad max in space!. The Goauld didn't actually change the setting at all. If anything that only give you an easy to take out local set of bosses. It doesn't really help to fix the setting though. This Is only a handful of goauld and the entire star league might be considered a system lord. The goauld using the wars to tear down the civ actually makes since.

They'd be much happier if all their planets were ruled by single planetary governor/goauld with everyone else slaves.

I enjoyed the first chapter as it gave us needed back story and got us invested in Jared and where he was at in the BT setting and all that.

I don't mind the magical girl mix. It is interesting. You might have done better to not have given us all her thoughts on things though. Major turn off on wanting to protect her or work for her side of things. I wanted Jared to just kill her off.

For a bit there, I was expecting for your magical mascot to be something along the lines of Kyubey. They don't really seem like they are very competent at what they do.

Some one mentioned that the creature sounded sort of like a zerg. Well, most magical girl demons could seem like that. It would be an interesting twist though if you had the magical girls actually needing to fight off a half dozen other things beside the goauld. It's just important that news of the entire magic thing not reach them. It's still needed for other things.

I sort of want to see what happened to his room mate. I'd find it rather funny if his dad managed to track down the room mate to drag him into the unwanted marriage.

Genma has no clue what happened to Ranma. If you've got magic in this verse, I could see your brothers showing up at some point.

Your character is a one man construction crew. He could repair/rebuild an entire mecha himself. That's not really that important though. One extra guy in a giant robot isn't going to fix the setting or help things much.

This is an experienced jumper though. There is no telling what he could load into his personal robot. If he wanted to, he could make something along the lines of an ACU knock off. Battle Tech has good long lasting robust tech. It's a pity that there aren't folks to really master or rebuild it.

I figured the ancient Egypt theme was just a local world thing that he landed on. I didn't think that it was remotely universal through out the sphere.

Hmm, I'm going to really need to re-read your details on the BT stuff and read up on the BT history. All that I really know is the romstar is generally the bad guys. The clans folks claim to be good guys, but are basically space Nazis/marines.

On most worlds life goes on. Until a stupid mech shows up. They tend to knock things down a few levels any time that they show up.

Thank you for sharing another story that I'm sure I'll love reading. My sincerest condolences on the passing of your mother. Your strength and positivity in your decision to honor her (and you brothers) by continuing to write almost brings me to tears and you have my everlasting admiration. Take care, and I look forward to reading more.
Difdi chapter 2 . 7/20/2019
Yikes. That bit about curative magic also neatly explains why the Goa’uld enact a Base Delta Zero on any world they discover magical girls on. Would a Goa’uld energy shield stop a healing spell? I doubt it very much, since the Alteran shield tech it’s based on would have no reason to block a healing spell.

And that healing spell would one-shot any Goa’uld, possibly any Jaffa, it hits. A big healing spell, like Sailor Moon’s Ginzuisho-fuelled shenanigans with global purifications would be a one-shot on a planetary scale.

No wonder they take off and nuke it from orbit. It’s the only way to be sure!

Good to see that you're still alive, though I do miss Chunin Exam Day...
Priest chapter 2 . 6/27/2019
great job on this so far. i only have a passing knowledge of Battletech, magical girls, and Stargate but i like the way things are going to this point. the description of the creature that was hit by the car kind of makes me think of the Zerg of Star Craft. any way love your works and can hardly wait for more of any of it in the future.
xxwarlovexx chapter 2 . 6/26/2019
Amazing, laughing the whole time. I love it.
cko2 chapter 2 . 6/25/2019
well, that is different for sure. magical girls, stargate, and battletech...talk about a very weird crossover from heck that will be fun to watch what you do with it. sounds like the magical girl makers are a bunch of idiots for sure. I can see magical girl hunters being a think also.
Abyssal Angel chapter 2 . 6/25/2019
Woah. This is definitely a first for me. I've never seen the Goa'uld Empire outside of plain vanilla SG1 fics! This should turn out very interesting!
Right What Is Wrong chapter 2 . 6/24/2019
Melissa really isn't very bright. (Which is entirely in keeping with her characterization...) Jared is walking around carpeted with magical artifacts. Is it so strange to presume he knows how to use them and/or has become experienced with using them to shore up his weaknesses? Given her own age-appearance discrepancy, I'd think she'd put things together and jump to the conclusion that this is some ancient sorcerer who prefers to keep a humble self-image for his own reasons and/or to make everyone else underestimate him.

Then again, everything about her screams 'Dunning-Kruger'...

Interesting crossover. That does explain the bizarre Egyptian theme. (Without context, I assumed it was some weird quirk of Battletech.)

Nice application of Cure Disease. I suppose that's why the rulers are rabidly afraid of magic?

Very nice chapter. I liked how you introduced the setting to the readers in an organic way.

P.S.
Any reason you're spelling it "Go'uld" rather than "Goa'uld"?
Relyonme1984 chapter 2 . 6/24/2019
Woo-hoo new chapter thank you for another wonderful chapter and I look forward to many more of both this and others.
MrPowell chapter 2 . 6/24/2019
Well, dang. Where's Jack O'Neill with a nuke when you need him?

Interesting take. Will keep an eye out for more.

Great to see you writing again. Or at least posting!

On a side note, it's Goa'uld, not Go'uld... unless you're changing things for some reason.
Stoned Koala chapter 1 . 6/20/2019
