Thekiller7 chapter 38 . 7/22 I think Ayako could have gone for the Patton Special: "NUTS!" |
omegadramon2 chapter 38 . 7/21 I'm to rewatch this Sigularity but I Hope that Asterios and Euryla will end up having the same Relationship they had in the game although wouldn't mind if you were to replace her with Koleen or Ayako |
Lumene chapter 37 . 7/21 ooh, since you have Caster!Gil he will get to summoned to Chaldea!? Yes the best king will appear someday. Too bad you don't have Enkidu... I really really want those two to reunite. |
Lumene chapter 38 . 7/21 Aah, that servant remembering previous summonings is definitely super weird thing in FGO because some servants like Cu remembers their previous summonings (FSN lancer Cu remembers fifth war and being Kirei's servant. Proto!Cu remembers being summoned from Fate/Prototype and his previous master... Heck he's still using those Lance's made by his previous master Misaya, because it's useful.). Tamamo remembers Hakuno from Extella and is still in love with them. Or how Nursery Rhyme remembers her previous master Alice and took her appearance..m there's lots examples and references in FGO. So I'm pretty sure using FGO's rules, if the impact and memory is strong enough they will remember it. I'm really interested how are you gonna play with it. Just like Kirei's betrayal was so strong Cu still remember about it. Being in Chaldea and having NICE masters who cares about you and respect you and won't betray you plus all that saving the world shenanigans should leave deep impressions in their soul and being worth remembering. Will they still befriend Asterios the good boy Berserk, since they are allies with Blackbeard now. |
ptl chapter 38 . 7/21 As avid reader of RWBY: Fate Disaster, Fate/Sunny Order and more Fate fanfics, I have also something to say: motherfuck you godsdamned Jason. You bastardly bastard, my day became terrible because of you (actually, it didn’t go bad, I’m dramatizing). Only with your humiliating and cheap defeat as well as insulting and slapsticking you will return me to glorious eternal and boisterous happiness (and laughter). |
downix2k chapter 38 . 7/21 Ah yes, the only proper response to Jason! |
Addicted2fanfics chapter 38 . 7/21 I've been waiting for this chapter so hard it hurt me. Great to see some story progression. Wasn't expecting the Singularity's Atalanta to have already died. And they picked up Euryale already. I think. Can't remember if Stheno was in it or not. And that last line is absolutely perfect. The delivery and the fact it was Ayako just made sense and it was BEAUTIFUL. Hats off to you my friend. And I am sorry for you, losing all that SQ while playing free can be an absolute PAIN. The salt was real back then. It real even if you do pay, but it hurts so much more when you're playing solely on free. We all feel your pain friend. Except for the whales, f*** the whales. I tanked my fgo fund for the next YEAR AND A HALF getting Skadi, and they just go ahead and keep doing it. And my luck has been all weird this year. I used the leftover SQ from Skadi to try and pull Saber Fran, and got NP2 on everyone but her. I got 2 copies of Caster Nero before I got one of Saber Fran. (0.0) How does that work? I'm not sure if this is salt or not. I don't know what to call it. I hope the best for you on your game. Keep playing! |
trexboy164 chapter 38 . 7/21 okay this is going be another multi one here we go! Please don't tell me you got rid of the Asterios Euryale subplot i understand but that my favorite part, do keep up with the manga (raw), and is the spells random or do you research this if yes i'm impressed. Good luck to you and this story |
amerdism chapter 38 . 7/21 I’m curious, will you ever do a part of the story where the rest of the world has returned? It’s just a thought I had, but I read another story recently where it was made so that between the main singularities the world outside existed still, it’s on the basis that the main singularities are what are destroying the world so while there is no main singularity and only exists minor ones then the rest of the world exists, so basically between singularities the world exists, it’s an interesting concept but one that the story I mentioned didn’t take advantage off much beyond the plot of said story and getting supplies, mainly because the masters have to stay on base because if they are away from Chaldea when a new singularity appears they will so ease to exist with the rest of the world again. Still it’s interesting, and that story brings up some interesting concepts, for example, the main premise of the story is that there are multiple Chaldea master/servant teams and the main one has some trouble working together, so Cu Chulainn suggests getting someone to train the team properly. This is where that interesting concept come into play cause Lancer suggests they find his teacher Scathach and have her teach the team. One problem, she can’t be summoned, since she still exists and is thus still alive, she can’t be summoned but Lancer instead leads the team to her being i the modern world. It’s an interesting concept like I said. A number of servants still exist in modern times according to their backstory, Scathach, Merlin, Arturia, the various gods, but yeah, you get the point, these servants still live in the modern era, and while their whereabouts are hidden, they can be found, for example, Cu Chulainn can find Scathach, Bediverre can find Arturia, I imagine one of the round table knights can contact Merlin, and as for the various gods there are probably ways to contact them that some like Medea or Circe would know, though I imagine they can’t manifest on Earth and would have to use someone as a vessel like how Waver is playing host to a servant currently, I read somewhere that this is what Ereshkigal and Ishtar do and that’s why they look like Rin Tohsaka, Astrea also does it with Luvia. Food for thought, what do you think? |
King0fP0wers chapter 38 . 7/21 Everyone's shitting on Eric, poor guy! It's interesting that the Okeanus chapter is one of the few where the grail is NOT the focus. That would be David's little murder box. Speaking of whom, where is he? Was he already crushed alongside Atalante of Okeanus? Things are also not looking good for Asterios, considering that his tiny girlfriend is clearly on the run from the Argo. But man, with Euryale, David and Artemis AND the allied Archers and gunslingers, we got a ridiculous amount of long range fighters for the heroes. How unbalanced. I also kinda miss Blackbeards whacky side. This one's... kinda boring, if you get what I mean. |
TalonScythe chapter 37 . 7/19 Yikes, sorry to hear that. These lockdowns have a way of getting to everyone, unfortunately the only way out of this is through so we all have to deal with it in some way. Enough of that though, onto the chapter. When you said in earlier AN’s that Ayako has some complicated issues with her puppetry, I was wondering what the hell you meant by that as so far she hasn’t shown such an issue. Lo and behold the opening segment of the chapter touches upon that very topic. Circuit manipulation is very risky to do so it’s no surprise for someone like Ayako, who takes pride in her identity and being, would be quite apprehensive about unintentionally changing or losing anything. Si-fi stories like ‘Ghost in the shell’ and ‘Alita: last order’ both explore the concept of what it means to be ‘human’ quite well, so this segment reminded me of them a bit (although in those settings, it was comparing to cybernetics and AI’s). It’s funny that Drake is scared of cave’s, not that I blame her as I get claustrophobic as hell about them myself. Don’t feel too bad about you forgetting that Eric was here, everytime I think of Okeanos I forget he even exists, the poor guy gets vastly overshadowed. Of course Medea is freaking out at the possibility that Jason is here, he was the centre for a lot of her trauma after all. The fact she’ll have to fight him and a possible version of herself must really freak her out. The nightly tradition that the team has set up I think is an excellent story device here. It gives them a chance to bring up and discuss sensitive subjects and get a bit personal with each other which I think is a good way to unwind from the non-stop action. Communication after all in a situation like this, is key. Considering that I only have a second hand and basic knowledge about the Fate/Extra series, the Drake and Queen Elizabeth relation was a surprise to learn about, did they actually do that?! (Don’t know why I’m even getting worked up by this, the Fate series does this ALL the time!) Nevermind, the fact that you’re making a compromise with them being sisters is fine enough not to be a continuity breaker in this case. Poor Koleen though, the resident historian is going to lose it at some point from all the bomb shells in historical inaccuracies at this rate. Now we reach the man of the hour himself, Edward Teach. Who thankfully isn’t as insufferable here as he is in canon but considering Anne and Mary’s behaviour around him, I won’t hold my breath for much of a change. Which does lead to the big shocker of Hector betraying him early and forcing him to side with Chaldea. Although this does raise a concern about what happens next, either something is about to go horribly wrong soon or Jason and his side are a much bigger threat then they were in canon. Curious to see where you take this. Final part unrelated to the chapter, After biting the bullet of getting spoiled I looked up your servant list. It’s an interesting roster you’ve got to work off, quite the bit of potential to give a few underrated characters some spotlight and a couple of big hitters to look forward to as well. A bit late to say this but good luck on any GSSR rolls if you did any, hope you got someone good. That’s all for now, stay safe out there and looking forward to more from you in the future! |
Evowizard25 chapter 36 . 7/19 Of course, I forgot to note in my previous review. I absolutely love the fact that lil Liz is a main character. I do agree she's treated as more of a joke character in FGO (although she's absolutely hilarious and likable so I don't mind it) I find it refreshing to have an FGO fic star her as one of the leading ladies. The fate cast is quite large but fics tend to only focus on a select few so it's always nice to see one of the lesser ones used so well here. Her relationships with the other characters are neat and her dialogue is spot on. I am surprised she hasn't tried to conduct any large concerts for herself though. Still love the pick of servants so far. Can't wait for her to meet Bride Nero in America. That was honestly a cute friendship between them. (Just got Caster Nero and I plan to use the next free ticket for Saber Nero. One day Bride Nero will be mine and I'll have the triple Nero team.) So far the singularities have, while kinda rushed a bit in Septem and Orleans, I think you've got a good handle on Okeanas. It has a good pace so we get to know all of the characters and a good Blackbeard is always welcome. (Even if he's a creep. XD) So you're doing a good job with Okeanas. Not too looking forward to London (to be honest, it's the only singularity I don't like for a number of reasons) though I'm sure you can make it interesting. Fran and Mordred's frienship was cute though. Overall, good story. Just forgot to add some things to my last review. |
Guest chapter 37 . 7/18 You should have Blackbeard speak like an otaku :D Also make him talk about 4chan XD |
Zakara chapter 37 . 7/17 "Hm, with you knowing my tricks, can't really rely on 'em no more. Have to think of something else that'll work as a good replacement." Oh God. This is Teach RIGHT before his transition to the ultra weeb we all love and hate. I do remember that theory about his memery simply being him adapting his "scare the everloving fuck out of my enemies" tactics to the times by being the biggest and most repulsive NEET it's possible to be. |
Evowizard25 chapter 37 . 7/17 Alright, I finally caught up to this story so I'm glad to finally get the chance to comment. Now for my overall review I find this to be a really enjoyable series. It's not just a 'replace master with insert character'. Everyone seems to have their role to play and they do it well. The cast seems quite balanced and you've sorted them with their servants quite well and given a good number of character interactions that are really interesting. Special note goes to what you're doing with Kiyohime. (I've loved her since the start. First servant I got to bond 10.) As for criticisms, well it's only slight ones. I have to say there were some missed opportunities in both the Orleans and Septem singularities for some juicy and interesting character interactions. For example, you bring up how Carmilla is ashamed of her past and the battle between her and Liz. That was really interesting and I wanted to see what would happen and then she dies... felt really anticlimactic and you could have dived into that more. Of course you might do that more if Carmilla is summoned to Chaldea, and that's a possibility but still. (Also slight note goes to changing Martha's design... but that's just me.) Again, only minor problems. I think the story still holds up really well. Bringing in Circe this early is unique and honestly was the best choice. She fits with this singularity perfectly and having her work with Medea is a treasure, which is something I've never seen anyone write before. Shame, since Circe is Medea's aunt. So kudos for bringing her in and they do work off each other well. Now what I can't wait to read is Artemis. Call me strange, but I actually love the FGO version of her. As a myth nut and someone who's read a lot of greek stories. she's probably the only version of her that is truly happy that I've read. (Or fun.) It's actually pretty touching to see her actually smile like that with the man she loves and I like their antics. (Helps even more so because Orion flirts with girls and gets her ire on purpose because he wants to keep her interested. What a guy. XD) As well as seeing their romance did have positive effects on her. (Got a bit spoiled from the future Lostbelt with them.) So I hope to see them shine here. Kinda get a bit tired with some authors just skipping her or not giving her just due. Overall, good story. Can't wait for more. |
