I love how you run through the timeline quickly. One thing that always bothered me when someone writes the story from first year is they put so much detail in that they never finish the story.

Some potion ingredients might need to be gathered at specific times of the years when stars or planets are aligned correctly.

The temporary forgetfulness potion reminds me of this fic where Fred and George basically roofie Harry, Cedric, Fleur, Viktor, and themselves with spiked alcohol and they end up getting into a whole lot of crap and pranking the entire school and visiting schools but due to the 'roofie' they forget everything.

The entire time Harry is Timeland, all think about is how magic has consequences. If time moves faster in Timeland, does that mean Harry is also affected by this accelerated time rate? Is Harry unwittingly aging faster than those around him?

I really like that they are not solving the puzzles the same way that they did in the books. This seems to make more sense. I also agree with your version of Minerva. She is completely unhelpful and almost resentful of everything Harry tells her. It's good that Harry's standing up for himself to everyone, even Hermione and he has a plan for the Dursley's. I'm really loving this story.

astronomy and herbology would be useful for ritual based magic but as Hogwarts is never shown to have that its pointless

trash why did he need to go to forbidden corridor cant someone with a brain go and call the dmle for fuck sake you made harry here have a half a brain but in the end he wont use it, why is most author here always go to this no brain route and only a significant amount of author have a brain to call the dmle to solved this, another generic fanfic

First off, I would like to say that this seems like a very interesting fanfic so far, and I am looking forward to see how it progresses. As for Herbology, and Astronomy being required classes for the first five years, I do see some uses for them. In Herbology, you are learning a lot about plants, many of which are used in potions. Presumably a greater understanding of the ingredients can help with your ability to brew potions. Likewise, it could be very useful to anyone who wanted to grow potion ingredients to sell to potion masters for a living. Also, a strong knowledge of the subject could function as something similar to a first aid class. Knowing which herbs can ease pain, boost immunity, and help prevent infection could be very useful to a mother of active kids who isn't skilled enough to make her own potions (or who doesn't have the time), or the money to buy them. For that matter, knowing how to deal with dangerous plants like the one used as a trap in the first book could be useful to anyone who lives in a magical area where such plants are common.

Astronomy is harder. But while not mentioned in cannon, it could be possible that some potions are stronger if brewed during different lunar phases,the same could be said for some spells. There could also be rituals that will only work if done if the stars are properly aligned, or are more effective in a particular moon phase.
