Nail Strafer chapter 1 . 6/21/2019 The idea behind this fic reminds me a lot of how the Star Fox team breaks up once they've defeated the Aparoids in SF Assault. It's a rather sad moment in the series' history all things considered, so I like how you touched on what would probably happen once the Freedom Fighters defeat Robotnik. Ooooh and I see it's a sequel to Confessions. Very nice. I had a smile on my face once I realized that's what you were doing. That got my attention once you revealed it was Sally who was the viewpoint protagonist and this was after she'd chosen to roboticize herself in order to save the day. So Sally feels pained when disconnected from her children. Huh...there's another Star Fox parallel. A lot of people in their SF fics mention that being Cerinian meant you were never truly alone, and you were connected to a network of other Cerinians...and it would have been torture for Krystal to suddenly have that huge hole in her mental consciousness too. Lien-Da... Was she mentioned in Confessions at any point? If she was, I don't remember. The Dark Legion didn't seem to be that important in that story to begin with, after all. How does a robot feel nauseous? It doesn't have a digestive tract, right? Also I wonder why Sally would need a hotel if she's a robot and doesn't need to sleep. Unless she just wants a place to stay out of the public eye in the meantime? "Sonic's an introvert...he needed a moment to himself." Introverted, really? Saying this as an introvert myself I'd say Sonic is quite extroverted, given how he likes to show off and be the center of attention and whatnot. Pretty sure he was like that even in the SatAM cartoon as well. You know, if Sally's been gone for so long I wonder why she never tried to contact any of the Freedom Fighters during this time. The story seems to hint that she just kinda stuck around on the Death Egg and never bothered to head down to the surface until now. I bet it could have resolved Sonic's problem right there if she'd done that, and then he wouldn't have had to worry about her anymore. So I wonder what her reason is for keeping her distance like that... Did she just feel awful about what she had to do and thus didn't want to come down until this trial? I feel like Sally should have taken her own advice here and also tried to contact Sonic, rather than her saying Amy should have been the one to do it. Heh, I do like the way this chapter ended though, with Sally giving Amy permission to hunt down Sonic and force her to marry him. Maybe Sally should come along for that meeting too...give both of them her blessing. Side note, I liked the flashbacks too with Tails as an infant, plus the horrible experiments that Robotnik did to Mobians for his own twisted ends. Gives a little more context to the current events. Typos: - "Even after you 'died', you had such a (hold) over Sonic - "He sits( )there like he's hanging out with you - "Could you not have found common ground with the other() Freedom Fighters?" - To that, for the first time in( )a very long time I smiled. |
