When are you updating The Right of Conquest?
efachepis97 chapter 21 . 7/20
I'm curious to see how Dumbledore's actions towards Snape will develop, considering that he knows the potions master has sworn to protect Harry at all costs...

Oh my godric I love this so much! I so ship George and Flora! More please xD
efachepis97 chapter 20 . 7/19
oh, please, have Harry leave some WWW products in the hallways and common rooms of Slytherin manor. I can already picture Marvolo making snide comments about Crabbe senior finding a puking pastie or Lucius' randomly changing hair colour during meetings. Just in general I would appreciate more anecdotes about the bizarreness of the Wizarding world (this is directed at fanfictions in general, not just you)

I enjoyed your version of the Wizengamot. Quite a promising start to the political aspect of this story. there are two things I wish for in respect to politics:
- While Harry defended himself well against Dumbledore in this session, the argument that Harry stumbled into politics and might not be ready for it is a valid one that both rivaling factions would try to profit from. Harry admits/claims that he accepted his Lordships to access the wills, disregarding the political duties he would thus shoulder. This is, frankly, irresponsible, no matter how you look at it. Dumbledore has correctly pointed out one of his political weaknesses and both factions should try to profit from it.
- A quirk of any/most democratic parliaments is that the central party, no matter how small they are, is the king maker. The only other option is that one of the two dominant parties has a working majority (eg. the US system) and can push through its agenda. if this isn't the case, it's a hung parliament that can only push through bills with some bi-partisan support. Considering that your WG consists solely of inherited seats (I think, some clarity on the issue would be appreciated) it means that either the light or the dark faction has an absolute majority or that the neutrals are, no matter their modest number, the undisputed king makers.
So what is the true nature of your WG? Are there elected seats that let the majority swing from light to dark every few years? Has the WG been a completely stagnant body that could only sporadically push through legislation when a few members of a faction swung the other way? Have Harry's three seats made the difference between a two party system and a new king maker party (as the LibDems were in 2010?)? I'm looking forward to finding out over the course of the story (as well as Harry's politics, of course).

I understand your choice of targets for Harry. What I would appreciate though is that he confirms their guilt with legilimency before acting. It would add a more believable layer as Death's judge, jury and executioner. It's true that our (the muggle) legal system makes mistakes, but to just assume that the tips (!) that Bones gives him are correct is negligent/careless.
It's good though that you have him feel the gravity of his actions after the deed.

Btw. As an enthusiastic beer drinker: I wouldn't expect purebloods, who've only had (the sugary atrocity known as) butterbeer so far, to enjoy Guinness. Be merciful and start them off with a nice cold Lager

really enjoying your story up until now. not the type of fics I usually go for, but I must say it's very intriguing. Your 'Marvolo' is an interesting character and I have enjoyed Harry's discussions with him.

Personally I find the lack of internal conflict among Harry's friends (and Harry as well for that matter) troublesome. I understand and agree that their loyalty towards Harry would ensure their lasting support for his actions, but it seems a bit unnatural that they don't have any reservations about it. the Weasleys, Neville and Luna would have grown up with pre-conceived notions which would at least lead them to question Harry's new status. They would need their unease to be addressed and calmed by Harry. And Neville would have stronger reservations about working with the Lestranges (arguably, so would Harry...). To sum up: I agree that they all would remain loyal, but the level of sangfroid they are showing is uncharacteristic (especially for a bunch of Gryffindors! ;)

now I know, alea iacta est, but personally I would have favoured a HP/DG pairing. Slash isn't really my cup of tea, but I'll continue with this story none the less. Looking forward to more!

Travers is a typical conspiracy theorist who is bound to be Harry's next victim.

And it looks like we have found Ms. Zabini.
purinsesu no akuma chapter 20 . 6/22
All those manipulation and lies are going to bite you in the ass when Harry finally kills you, Dumblefuck.
Lukkai chapter 21 . 6/15
Well, Travers seems like the classical conspiracy theorist, doesn't he. Something didn't go as he wanted or doesn't look as he liked, hence it can't really be true. So he starts searching and looking (and drinking) and thinking until his mastermind that is obviously superior to the minds of all his peers manages to piece things together, pierce the curtain of lies and finds the hidden truth beneath. And suddenly it all makes sense. Now all he needs to do is present it in the right way at the right moment and everyone will see him for what he truly is and be in awe of his superior intellect.
Let's be honest here: That IS 99% of conspiracy theorists explained in a nutshell. (Not counting in mere hanger-ons.)

As for Snape wondering whether Harry is aware of his manipulations or not... I would say it is a little of both. Yes, he is aware that he has an effect on people. Heck, Tom has even openly told him so. What Harry still doesn't realise, in my opinion, is just how strong people feel that effect and how far it reaches.

And good luck with fully integrating Harry into 'proper' Pureblood-society. He has set out to change it after all, as one of his goals. It will probably a good thing if they manage to reel him in a little and make him slow down every now and then. Might do wonders for how well any changes are accepted, in the Wizengamot and wider society both.

I do wonder about Dora Tonks' internal thoughts about the matter though. She was leaning towards her mentor's side before, but not without reservations it seemed. And from how Snape describes her at the meeting, those doubts may well have grown. Probably would not take all that much for her to throw her lot in with Harry.

Dumbledore will have to remember all the lies he told to keep up. Thomas is digging his own grave.
