Reviews for The King's Legacy
TheAttemptedWriter chapter 3 . 5/13
Does Alex see rivalry in love? Hmmmmm?
Guest chapter 12 . 2/2
You did the emotional work too nicely. Octavian and Percy parallel to Romulus and Remus, simply heart breaking. Well done
Guest chapter 11 . 2/2
That was mind blowing. I haven't come across a fight that was as realistic as yours and so well thought out and well written. This is something of a professional level. Only thing that was a bit off was Reyna becoming the praetor. But I can totally understand how you want to pan things out. You have OPed Reyna but to take her out of equation for the next book. Because she is simply badass. Not everyone will understand that and most would be satisfied with Percy being unbeatable and what not but you did the right thing there. Don't change okay?
Guest chapter 10 . 2/2
It's a nice thing, this chapter. You could call it cliché with hopelessness in the beginning, then a strong speech, then a hope for better things to come. But you made it work. I could almost feel the energy all of them were exuding. Hats off. And a brilliant set up for battle. Reading it has adrenaline coursing through me.
Guest chapter 9 . 2/2
I can't describe in words how wonderful this was. Truly epic. Simply too good to be just on fanfiction. Have you tried posting it on other sites like AO3? I have heard PJO is more active there. Here, its dying. There aren't enough readers and a few who are don't really try new stuff because most of it simply pathetic. This is a class apart.
JackReaper28 chapter 3 . 1/30
You have really managed to capture Percy's charcter well. RR didn't use this much but Percy sorta resented Thalia in TC. He has that hero complex you might say. It's nice seeing that throughout the story and not some perfect boy.
JackReaper28 chapter 12 . 1/7
After all these months, still can't comprehend how good this is... Like everything. Rereading it has been more fun than it was the first time. The ease with which you dabble with the emotions, the sheer terror and helplessness against Lycaon, anger and later grim determination with Romulus, that fight with Krios... Simply mind-blowing. Hats off to you man. Hope to see more from you soon.

Just read the two books, honestly... One of the best things I've ever read, so damn refreshing. It was amazing, the ending of this was great. I love how you've built Percy and Reyna. Octavian.. damn that hurt.

Great job!
MasterTrident chapter 12 . 12/1/2019
While I liked the story I feel like I missed something. How did Reyna go from being a Probatio to being a Praetor in one swift sequence? It kinda came out of the blue, and even if they found her actions noteworthy, that wasn't to say Percy's weren't on par. If anything I would have expected Percy being on a shield with Reyna (even if he didn't intend for it) leaving Octavian seething. Reyna finished the Titan, but it would have been impossible if Percy had not created an opening for her. The narration from the penultimate chapter says that she was a "saviour" who had come to "lead [them] in the war", yet it was Percy who took command of the Legion and got them in order before handing the reins to Alex. And Reyna's fight was impressive - too impressive even when you consider that she is still relatively new with inexperience in combat. Sure her being the child of Bellona helps, but not enough to face-off a Titan with millennia of experience.

I just feel that Reyna's developed as a character too quickly. We still haven't had enough time to fully learn about her. She's not really known by anyone in the camp, regardless of her fantastical deed on Scipio of duelling with Krios, and the fight only ended because Percy was willing to risk everything to break the armor.

Most of all, it just seems like Reyna became a Praetor because Percy gave her Scipio's reins on a whim and she was able to leverage the pegasus in their fight against the Titan.

I liked the story, but not certain specific decisions. Because honestly if Percy wasn't deserving of Praetorship after that battle, then neither was Reyna. They both played essential roles in the battle, and the camp would have been lost if either of them were not there. Except Percy is an actual branded member of the Legion while Reyna was still technically on Probatio status (also considering that their quest was technically a failure as they did not bring Romulus back as the was the quest's intention. So assuming equal action, Percy would be the one promoted on grounds of being an actual experienced and a recognizable member of the Legion, as opposed to Reyna who is a Probatio who barely spoke to most in the Legion before they ran off on a failed quest. It's not Percy's time to be praetor yet, but neither was it Reyna's.

Honestly I think I'm too tired right now to think straight. But still it just feels odd to me. Maybe my opinion will change if I reread It in a few days time.

Ooofff... I really didn't think you could do the emotional stuff so good. Too bad that Octavian will become the person he was in the cannon verse
Guest chapter 11 . 11/25/2019
Whhewww! Quite good really.. The battle was honestly better than most Rick Riordan has written. You didn't overpower the demigods and surely didn't underpowered the titan.. Great work
Guest chapter 10 . 11/25/2019
Superb i must say... I read your story upto chapter 9 and didn't check it out again for a few months... I must say damnn... What have I missed.. Loved it totally and keep it up man(i imagine you as a man, sorry if I am wrong).. Now onto other chapters.
Guest chapter 12 . 11/24/2019
Thank you so much for the quick update
Dretoven chapter 12 . 11/24/2019
Damn. Great story. Thought you wrapped things up well. Definitely very interested to see what Octavian does in the next book, and imo you did a good job creating what might've led to Octavian becoming who he was in Riordan's books. Can't wait to read drowned! Oh and Jason Grace and Annabeth Chase? Interesting...

I only have one complaint so far, wtf is Reyna replacing Percy as the mc? I don’t mean for this to be like a roast or to be mean, but come on dude there are other ways to handle a secondary character being important than to have them slowly replace the main character. Also the reason the Percy gave Reyna sicpio is flimsy at best, and as a history enthusiast I can reasonably say that romans would respect Percy more for his role in leading the legionaries in battle after the chain of command fell apart, then Reyna for helping the centurions battle Krios. I do get it though it’s fiction and it’s your story, although as fan of your part 1 of this story I still think it’s really jarring to go from Percy and co to this transition with Reyna as the new lead. Otherwise the story’s been a fun read if a little short.

Best of luck,
Weeb out.
