I absolutely love this concept! Such a cool idea, and your execution is good too. I adore dragon Danny being like, cute and catlike. It was something I loved about Toothless too in HTTYD-bouncing between absolutely adorable and, like, super threatening.
My only recommendation would be to watch your capitalization for dialogue, I've noticed lower case in areas that should be uppercase.
Part of me hopes that even when he 'changes back' he can switch back and forth at will like he does with his ghost half in the original. Because human Danny having some dragon habits carryover would be like, the cutest crap ever.

So there's a good chance Danny's going to end up huge when he's a dragon. Cool! As cute as the idea of him as a relatively small human sized dragon is, him being towering would be interesting. I like the new cover by the way.
