Great Chapter. Can't wait till Jonathan takes clary back to the magical moving apartment, which would be such a cool place to own. Clary Morganstern has always been way more exciting to read then Clary Fairchild or Fray. The whole good vs evil gets old over time which is one of the reasons I love to read about the morally grey characters like Jonathan.

I feel for Clary and understand why she's confused but even if Jonathan had done the terrible things they say he has it can't be proven that he wasn't in the wrong for killing them I mean their are two sides to every story. Jonathan is still her family and has always been kind to her. It wouldn't make sense for her to abandon him for a group of strangers no matter how kind and cool they seem to be. She doesn't know these people and would ultimately always choose the safety of her brother over strangers.
Maybe if she already had a history with Jace and the group and was like 15 or 16 similar to the books and show than perhaps she would stay with them but she's only 8. I hope she finds a way to escape them and meets up with Jonathan he is such an interesting character, I'm interested to see more of their interactions, she is too out of place at the institute just like Max was.

I love your story and look forward to the next chapter. I'm trying to figure out the ages of the other shadowhunters its bugging me, I mean it makes sense that the others must be like 10 years older than her right? If Izzy is wearing slutty clothes and they are all joining in on rescue missions and what not. You've never really established any of the other ages apart from Clary herself.
