THIS REVIEW IS SO LATE I AM TERRIBLE I AM SO SORRY! It is especially appalling considering how many times I have re-read these cut scenes, which are as brilliant and enjoyable as all of your amazing LOTR fics! I loved reading every single one of these scenes, but I will now shriek about my favourites below:
*the flashback with Arbellason catching Legolas after he snuck out made me want to clutch my chest because I just love them and their relationship so much? Arbellason became one of my favourite OCs of yours at some point, and I loved getting an insight into his relationship with Legolas, and his teasing of Thorontur and Thranduil was so delightful (I forever LOVE that trio and their friendship). I also laughed out loud at Legolas' almost-squeal when Arbellason caught him!
*the scene where Saeldur brought Legolas back during Betrayal made my heart hurt- Thranduil's love and worry for/over Legolas will never not make me emotional, and I loved seeing Thranduil's softer side and him comforting Saeldur.
*I LOVED the scene with Eowyn, Aeroniel and Rochendilwen- seeing Eowyn with the elves is always a delight and I am SO excited that you are planning on writing more fics with her and Faramir with the elves! I absolutely adored the story about Lindariel too- I know we haven't seen her in many of your fics, for sad but obvious reasons, but I absolutely love how you can see both her and Thranduil in Legolas. Have you ever perhaps considered writing a fic where she is reunited with Legolas and Thranduil in Valinor? ;) I would definitely cry but I would also die of happiness!
*the scene where Legolas is injured by Arahael HURT- Legolas essentially taking a bullet for Saeldur despite everything that is going on makes complete sense because of course despite the hurt and pain he still loves and would die for Saeldur (I am FINE) and Saeldur's line about his honour obviously being worth less than Legolas' life brought me physical pain. Seeing this scene from Feredir's perspective would have been super fascinating and painful too- he is also such an interesting character and I adore his friendship with Legolas!
*the final scene both destroyed and revived me- will I ever be over the friendship between these two? Literally never ;) Saeldur dropping the cloak over Legolas' shoulder was so sweet, and I love how Saeldur clearly knows how to coax Legolas into opening up and that Legolas trusts Saeldur enough to be able to talk to him, even after everything. It is such a relief to see that they are still so close after the events of this extremely stressful fic, and I always love some good hurt/comfort!
Thank you for posting these wonderful cut scenes and giving us all a fun distraction! I cannot wait to read more of your LOTR fics, and I hope you (and everyone who ends up reading this!) are doing well and staying safe during this crazy time!

I loved reading the cut scenes, as it gave me more content to enjoy! I truly loved the finish of this story, and how Legolas and Saeldur make amends at the end. I have so much enjoyed following along on this long arc. It is one of my very favorites, and you remain one of my favorite writers on here. I hope you will consider writing more about Legolas in the future. I find very little I enjoy reading anymore. Thank you for the many pleasurable hours of reading you have provided!

The last little story between Legolas and Saeldur is my favourite. Saeldur is probably my favourite of your created characters. It would be net to read about when they first met and their younger years. By the way, how do you visualize this character? I have read all your LOTR stories but don’t remember a lot of his physical characteristics. Either way I love your stories and they have provided me with entertainment through many years.

GOD I CANNOT PUT INTO WORDS HOW RELIEVED I AM THAT THESE TWO ARE OKAY AGAIN, I LOVE SAELDUR AND LEGOLAS' RELATIONSHIP SO SO MUCH. At the beginning of the fic I believed they would be okay in the end but I started to have some doubts towards the end, so reading this was both an extreme relief but also bittersweet because I never wanted this fic to end! Saeldur seeing Legolas and instantly knowing he is not okay broke my heart, and just where do I even start with their conversation? Due to obsessive rereading of scenes in which Saeldur's secret was alluded to I suspected that Saeldur's secret was that he thought Legolas was being taken and was relieved it wasn't him, but reading about it still made me lie down dramatically on my couch and want to cry. Saeldur is such a vivid and gorgeous character- his reasoning behind everything he did, the secrets he kept and why he acted horribly to Legolas, hit so hard because it just felt so real? Fury and guilt and grief can make someone act awfully even to those they love most, and I feel like we so rarely get to read characters who do this and make colossal mistakes, so Saeldur has always held a special place in my heart because he gets to do these things and yet still be sympathetic and fiercely good. Legolas grabbing Saeldur's hands when Saeldur is floundering and needs something to center himself made my heart swell, and I was basically a wreck from "I do not want to trust you" to the end of the fic; "You do not have to be strong for me" (SAELDUR HAS SAID THAT TO LEGOLAS COUNTLESS TIMES I AM FINE) and Saeldur crying and Legolas giving him a weapon while also giving him hell for nearly letting himself get killed and Saeldur saying he will be better and worthy of Legolas' forgiveness and wanting to pledge his bow to him again and Saledur saying Legolas is already worthy of his faith (I am aware I just listed many things but they all made me super emotional so I stand by it ;). This was the perfect ending to such an enthralling and brilliant fic- a fic which honestly kept me sane and gave me something to look forward to during this long year of shrieking at my thesis, which I will always be grateful for! I cannot wait to read more of your stunning Mirkwood fics!

hey! i have been reading your stories for a very long time and they're some of my favourite stories (esp the lotr ones) out there; i love your miron-arc series; this must have been the third time i re-read them. i love how complicated the plot is, and i love your writing- it feels so much like the way they would actually speak in middle earth, and its general very skilled. and i love everyone's charcterisations; especially your ocs! ive become so attached to them that at this point i cant help but consider them part of the actual canon; they feel so real, and you did an amazing love sketching them out!
and saeldur and legolas, agh! this one was actually v hard to read bc it physically pained me that they were mad at each other.

OMG I LOVE THIS SO MUCH! FINALLY SOME CLOSURE ON WHAT HAPPENS BETWEEN THEM. IT honestly just hurts because they've been friends for so long and I love Legolas words that he doesn't know how not to trust Saeldur. It's just beautiful and perfect end to this part of the series. The characters are just so real and so well defined... that it's just a beautiful world all on its own.~ Thank you for making this! I can't wait to read more of what you have in store for us!~ 3

As always so wonderful, and, as always, so sad to be over! I'm glad that Saeldur and Legolas worked things out. I don't see how Legolas could still be upset after Saeldur's admittance. I hope you will be able to write more soon! I have enjoyed reading through this story arc so much, and am sad to finally reach the end!

So satisfying. When I saw at the top it was the last chapter, I almost left and came back to read it later, because a large part of me doesn't want this story to ever end. But I couldn't have the willpower to tear myself away, and it was such a perfect ending as a reward. I hope there will be more Mirkwood fic, because this is my favourite series, but this has been an absolutely wonderful story.
