Wow. Never have I read a story that has been so horrid and beautiful and endearing and I don't think I have the words to describe the things that make this brilliant. This is something special. Lots of feels. Lots of action. Plenty of excitement.
10/10 would recommend.

Sweet I always enjoy a good revenge story!

As for writing advice... Work on that redundancy. Very often characters say things we the reader already know. Usually a paragraph of around five sentences that just states what has already happened.

Once or twice characters state these things to other characters that also already know what has happened which makes it feel even worse.

Now that's a lotta text for something that doesn't happen all the time but I thought it was noticeable enough to warrant a mention.

Obviously I liked the story well enough or else I wouldn't read it all the way through.

Oh, this was a tough chapter too! I hate that Hiccup lost his father, just when he had returned and could have been with him, as Hiccup himself said. I know that seeing how Stoick had suffered too, and then losing him, was another huge motivating factor in Hiccup's revenge. You know, revenge usually gets a bad rep, but I don't think it should in this case. Not only is Hiccup completely justified, but these men are truly evil and they need to be locked away for the good of society, to protect other innocents from them. So in this case, I wholeheartedly root for Hiccup to go after them.

Also glad that he did find Snotlout and that his cousin is supportive here too!

This whole story was roller coaster ride of everything great about a story. I enjoyed it immensely.

I found this story after you had been going for a while and was immediately hooked. I loved every minute of it! It was exciting and intriguing and entertaining throughout. I hated to see it end but it was a perfect ending. It has definitely become one of my favorite HTTYD stories. Fantastic job as always and I am looking forward to seeing more of your others!

I really love this story! I started it, and I wasn't sure what to expect, but it really drew me in!

I have to admit that I've only skimmed the first chapters; Hiccup's suffering was upsetting to me; it's a miracle the poor thing survived. I was so glad when he found Gobber, and so sad when Gobber died, but hopefully he's at peace now and Hiccup has escaped, made friends, and can begin to live his life again.

Ruffnut and Tuffnut are perfect-their crazy, zany, flout-the-rules-and-do-what-they-please-but-basically-goodhearted selves. Fishlegs is kind and sympathetic and the voice of reason to counter them. Hiccup finally hit a stroke of good fortune when they found him and took him in. They'll be the best friends anyone could ask for.
