I don't consider myself someone who cries at stories, and before I never did, not that I can remember.
But when I was reading God Rising's epilogue, I caught myself about to multiple times. However, as I thought I had defeated my tear ducts and continued reading the Synod chapters I hadn't read until that point, you snuck up on me with that "she called for me" line and I didn't make it out with dry eyes anyways. I'm also not normally someone who reviews things, content to simply read and enjoy, but if you changed one of my habits, you might as well change another.
Thank you for the story, I had a great time reading it.

Re-reading after finishing GR makes me realise that Neia was likely also beating herself up over her failiure to maintain the rules set out in the Book of Black Justice. That she, after recovering, probably spent her life atoning for her self perceived sins. Makes the whole thing sadder.
