jonathan.jt.batz chapter 21 . 7/28 YES. MAD, CACKLING ZUKO! So incredibly satisfying! All the bs and he finally tells the world to shove it, tells his countrymen to grow a backbone, and then rides off with his sister to catch up with some old friends. It’s pure gold. I love this fanfic. |
Guest chapter 15 . 7/19 Please make this a zuko toph fic. You already have a great start on it! Plus the age difference is only a couple of years so it won’t matter as much when they are older, really if you think about it in their time period which in the fire nation i want to say is close to feudal japan then it wasn’t weird for older guys to marry younger girls too. If that helps persuad you! Please just think about it...:) |
MarvelMatt chapter 21 . 7/18 This is brilliant - seriously, I love it. You've taken the small problems that I always had with the cast (Iroh in particular) and created a believable and engaging narrative. Everyone is true to their canon characterisations and that's the best thing of all. I'm assuming the ruins they're headed for are those of the Sun Warriors and therefore we can expect to see Zuko regain his firebending prowess and from there, reach his full potential, though I am wondering how Azula would tie into that? Would she join him, or simply believe she has nothing to learn from them. Aang and Iroh have created a real clusterfuck, especially since Zuko is right - the Fire Nation has won the war. Anything they hand out is just that, a hand out. They can't kneel, because they're the victors here. I can't wait to see where this goes! |
Guest chapter 14 . 7/13 I came here from your Salvage story... and don’t get me wrong - this story (as well as that one) is *french kisses* but... iroh why... why... would you ? I mean I know why but zuko... I swear I am not mentally stable for this EMOTION and toph and zuko are *heart eyes* and just Sokka’s POV is PERFECT and Iroh! and i BLOOMING SWEAR that if I don’t read on and everything is fine I am going to IMPLODE! *makes explosion noises accompanied with wild hand gestures* sorry for the rant I love your stories (thank you so much) |
lizzoheetah chapter 21 . 7/6 heheheheheheheh I love how that was the plan I bet Tai Lee blocked his bending. not that it matters much, but the implication that she wiped fruit juice off herself to do so is reservedly hilarious: an excellent touch. And, the small gondola problem was just solved! Yay! I'm gonna giggle my way to madness over here and I think this qualifies as a succession crisis. The brink of civil war and everything. The real question is if the incoming ship is guards, that somehow anticipated their next place, or the gaang coming for Hakoda and Suki before any other political upheaval can put it off, or maybe some third and less anticipated thing. At any rate this should be... interesting. and the 'Crown Prince' might even be a hostage valuable enough to pause the warden, if the guardship doesn't convey news ver efficiently. aaaah so much fun3333 thank you for writing |

Salome Maranya chapter 21 . 6/10 This is surreal. Azula and Zuko getting along, laughing together and disobeying the Fire Lord. They're even going on a life changing field trip together! |

Zack chapter 21 . 5/13 Congratulations! |
Neocolai chapter 6 . 5/11 "Zuko can't stomp all the way back to the Avatar's group... it takes too much energy anyways." Now that I understand. There simply isn't enough energy in the world to hold a lousy tantrum, especially when you've already expended most of that energy in a "No you can't, Yes I can" shouting match with one of your leading generals. Zuko, you do remember that you're sixteen and spent your formative years on a ship (where people tried to murder you), so nobody expects you to understand all the social rules of politics, right? So many parts where the staff tries to look after him and get him to sleep. My soul hurts. The Snoozles parts... I can't stand them... I practically went into hysterics when I first read about Ambassador Snoozles. Oh my land, Zuko your dignity could cripple all four nations with insanity. "Captain Izumi is very clearly NOT PLEASED with having one less of her people around for backup..." Izumi is my favorite side character in this story. She is a perfect captain and soldier, but somehow she rounds everything out in dry humor that cuts through the thickest tension. Love it. I appreciate Zuko's consideration for Aang's vegetarian preferences. A very thoughtful gesture, even if he hadn't intended to host his sworn enemies for the unknown extended future. "I just hit my shoulder. With the ceiling." Because that quote isn't about to make Uncle Iroh worry sick about you. Oh Zuko. "The waterbender's glare is anything but mild, and promises that his shoulder won't hurt ever again by the time she's done healing him." I forget how vicious Katara could be in the series. Yes, this is sadly on-core with her personality. How else did Iroh expect Zuko to respond to a waterbender healing him? "Zuko can't redirect Azula's lightning fully anymore. It's been getting worse, every time, and he's not sure if she KNOWS and he's afraid to tell her, because there are two very different ways she could react to learning how close she's come to really hurting him." Oh my, that gives me a terrible perspective of Azula's precarious personality - not the part where she would finish off Zuko and save the trouble of banishing-and-or-executing him in the future, but that she might be destroyed inside if she actually hurt her brother. I kind of want to see something manifest from this...? And we FINALLY get the Uncle Iroh hug, and it's so hurtful to read again, because Iroh doesn't KNOW what happened to Zuko, he just thinks he's had a merry time being Fire Lord in his father's absence and he doesn't realize Zuko thinks of himself as a fallback Fire Lord for the nation, right on top of all of his other mistakes. It hurts to read it, and Iroh is so worried when he realizes Zuko is redirecting lightning without proper training, but it's all leading up to disaster and nothing good will come of this. X( Ach, my heart... I need more updates so I can see the happiness return. (And find out what's going on at that dafted boiling rock.) |
