Well, I wasn't planning on reviewing, but I really need to point out a few things. First off, I would like to say that your concept is good. The spirit of the story is really a great nod to this terrific couple.
However. You have to remember that Xing society is based of of the Chinese Empire before it became a republic. The way you described everything, especially Mei's dress, it sounded more more European then Chinese. The Chinese, and the Xing by extension, are more reserved and very respectful. If anyone in the court had the audacity to speak in such manner about a royal princess, that was grounds for execution.
Granted, as a fantasy counterpart more leeway is allowed, but I doubt something like that would slip past Ling's awareness. Speaking of Ling, I doubt he would allow Al to be thrown out without hearing his side of the story. Speaking of Al, he would never, ever say those kind of words. He is too polite for that and he had plenty of opportunity to say them on the show and never did.
I'm sorry if this is not the type of review you were expecting, but I had to put that out there.

This was so cute! I don't know how I feel about this ship on the show- it's a little weird, but maybe it'll grow on me with time, but this was so adorable!

Loved this so much. You wrote their relationship with such tenderness and sincerity and just... Al deserves this love in his life. This is amazing.
