Pyrah chapter 5 . 6/19 Hey again! Found this and read all of it in one sitting! This was fun. My favorite one was the first one where they're dibbuns trying to make a cake for Contstance. That was so fun! Well, anyway, you keep writing and I'll keep reading. Update something soon! |
CasterWay chapter 5 . 1/17 Dear The Grey Coincidence, You have managed to write a 'drabble' of sorts chronicling fabricated events that had occurred in our realm. The style of writing is exquisite, as always, and we daresay that you are quite aware of the titles and structures of our realm. Every character, from our world or not, was sculpted in incredible detail, and through the eyes of children (which we know are hard to control), no less. The idea that a 'school trip' from Redwall up North leading to unexpected developments was first conceptualised in the fic 'Worlds Collide', and in the seven or so months in between we can see your improvement in writing, most notably in conservation of detail. Though in the first drafts you had to ask Waycaster for help numerous times, in the end you were able to finish this piece of work yourself (and with a certain 'Keldor' as proofreader) mostly without error. That said, it would be nice if you neglect from slandering our realm, abusing our nobles and under-developing Grollo the hedgehog, in descending order of criminal seriousness. Still, the last one would warrant a few seasons in our galleys if we had our way. Do try to let him do anything but eat, whine or cower. But the greatest felony of all is depicting laughter coming from our mouth. That will not happen in any circumstance, even if the one and only Duke Somerled successfully embarrasses himself once more. Seen it once, seen them all. Overall, this is a masterpiece without parallel, and I would hope for more 'visits' of sort. Mayhaps we shall arrive at Redwall for a short visit, but I doubt permission will be given. Still, may Fate lead us together again. Yours sincerely, Garmund III, by Great Seasons' Grace, King of Triel, former Duke of Gridain, heir presumptive to the Electorate of Lorsa, and overlord of Southsward and Dravania and other lands adjacent A/N: Yes. An author's notes in a review. Using Garmund as a mouthpiece to convey my thoughts was a bit unorthodox, considering that 1. he doesn't belong to me; and 2. he tends to accentuate the negative parts in a review a lot. So... yes. I love your birthday present, and I am definitely touched by your kind gesture. *sees Garmund returning with his axe* I gotta go... G/N: Ah, yes. Finally chased away that fox, though his cloying stench lingers still. In any case, good work, Grey. Write more, and keep a wide berth from vermin. It is for your own good, and not because of century-old prejudices laying within Trielian and Southard society that Jade TeaLeaf had emphasised and Waycaster had not seen fit to correct at this point in time. That is definitely not the case. Now, back to ruling my realm reborn... |
Kailah TreeWalker chapter 5 . 1/16 Only one thing to say. Poor Fret. All the warrior guardians who have gone to dark forest but have been highly amused with this whole thing, especially in regards to Momchillo's totally ignorance of reality, and Matiya's little tussle. LOL well done, looking forward to more. |
Lord demon chapter 5 . 1/15 I would like to see Fret, Momchillo and Savage Slayer teaming up to defend an ottermaid (savage slayer secret crush) from a band of lizards and their troll leader |
One-Eye the Wildcat chapter 5 . 1/15 ok, this is probably my favorite drabble so far. |
CasterWay chapter 4 . 1/5 Fluff! Yippee! Drabbles like this are a nice way to explore the relationships between characters - you kinda neglected Bork’s development a bit - so I’m very glad you finally got to write this! Animals building snowbeasts is harder than humans building snowmen, so its quite heartwarming to see Bork and ‘Whimper’ actually build one. They can get quite creative, as you may know. The last scene was the cherry on top of the cake. Bork actually cares about ‘Whimper’! May your heart be your guiding key! |
Sebias of Redwall chapter 4 . 1/2 A nice update! It has a Christmas-ey feel to it in the way that there is snow, and creatures are making snowmen from it, and all that fun stuff. However, someone needs to tell Bork that it's the time to spread peace and goodwill on earth. XD Bork and Fret's friendship never ceases to intrigue me. Both have very few pals in the world, and both have an odd way of showing their appreciation. A nice update. I can't wait to see the next drabble, Grey. :-) Happy writing to you! |
Sturm and Drang chapter 3 . 11/19/2019 Let’s see. Pretty sure those category tags for this said humor and friendship? Yep. Checks out. |
Abrahem chapter 3 . 11/8/2019 Damn! This was perfect grey! A beast who tormented children gets killed by children! Perfect dramatic irony! I’m glad Longtongue got this, he really deserved it. Also glad those snake eggs fret encountered are brought back up. The descriptions of the cold and how the snakes bite him, it’s perfect. I hope you do good on the contest! Have a great day! |
Sebias of Redwall chapter 3 . 11/8/2019 Oh. Well that's...one terrible way to go... It appears that justice has finally caught up with him in the forms of a bunch of three-worm-long snakes. Yikes! I like it how this chapter went straight from depressing to worse. XD Poor Longtongue... Well, at least we know what happens to him. Boy, the title to this drabble sure get's a lot less innocent every time I look at it. XD All in all, a great chapter, Grey! Happy writing to you! |
CasterWay chapter 3 . 11/8/2019 Being killed by hundreds of newborn snakes? What a horrible way to go, even if it is for a horrible child-kidnapping toad... I wonder what you can cook up later. May your heart be your guiding key! |
One-Eye the Wildcat chapter 3 . 11/8/2019 Damn... That's a pretty nasty death. I wonder if the snakes will appear later in the book. |
Kraft58 chapter 1 . 8/7/2019 Hey, I saw your reply in another archive's forum so I wanted to check out your profile, surprise surprise you are a fan of redwall, giving us something in common. First things first, allow me to introduce myself, my name is Kraft58, I am a professional author with my own redwall-esque novel coming out in December of this year. I hope I can honor Jacques memory. Now onto the story itself, I love the first chapter. Focusing on the Dibbuns instead of the current or future redwall warrior is a nice little twist. I am wondering though what Era this is in, since Redwall takes place throughout many many different seasons (from Lord Brocktree to Martin the Warrior, to Matthias to Mattimeo and Martin II, even beyond that). Good interesting concept, I look forward to reading more |
Sebias of Redwall chapter 2 . 7/27/2019 Aha! So the cake wasn't stolen by Bork after all! XD Manywhiskers is an interesting character to be sure. The way he made the "Crime" such a big deal was terribly ironic considering that HE was the actual culprit. XD I'm also glad we got to see more of Longclaw and Bork. (I think I would prefer to live in Bork's kingdom personally. I like cookie jars more than skulls. XD) All in all, this was quite a funny chapter that was a pleasure to read. I wish you luck on the contest! Happy writing to you! |
Abrahem chapter 2 . 7/23/2019 I saw on that forum you finally made another Drabble! I liked it, I should’ve known it was gonna be a mystery parody with the “elementary” title. Manywhispets makes a great Holmes he definitely has the eccentricities and courage to be annoying to superiors. I kinda get what his mental exercise was, try and convince longclaw of something else even though the real answer is obvious. I like the name Chillgrave, perfect name for the castle. Also Choptail’s a nice name, felt sorry for him and was dreading his name taking on a new meaning. I’m honestly interested in how he escapes long claw. I serioisly thought this was gonna end up in dark comedy in that someone innocent gets killed and we end up hating the villains more, thankfully no one got hurt. Keep up the good work, have a nice day. |
