Yeah so happy for a new chapter! I adore this story its something so different yet of course so familiar. Cant wait for the next chapter. Love Michael's struggle with slowing down and having to show restraint btw. Keep up the great work :-)

Since Cornwell was able to survive well enough in the series, why can't i shake the feeling that her being turned is key to another major divergence?

Seems pretty stupid of burnham to give her venom to someone even for study, I would think she’d know better. Also I think it’s more interesting with her as the only vampire in the story or at least active in starfleet and on the ship, it feels like it gives her a new kind of flavour, if that makes sense and turning someone else just seems like it’d take that away. It’d be interesting if only certain being could be turned into vampires though, like a kind of natural selection thing, and the vampires are able to sense candidates, you know, an extra twist, that helps explain why there are or aren’t so many vampires around, also I find it a bit hard to believe that starfleet would be so irresponsible to allow other vampires to turn humans or otherwise into vampires themselves without some supervision. Though, personally I would find it interesting if in the future burnham and the vampires set up their own government and system for themselves cause as they are right now they’re at the whims of humanities government without their own representation legal wise.

Awesome story. I hope to see more soon. When’s the next chapter going up? Will Burnham actually address that she’s accused as the person to start the war with the Klingons in this story? I’m curious, from what I’ve seen, the accusations that she started the war in canon are false in their entirety as the Klingons opened hostilities. Her killing T’kuvma could be said to have helped continue the war as she martyred him, but the Klingons fires first with no provocation.

I’d also like to say that I love how you’ve altered the normal idea of what makes a vampire to make Burnham into a sci-finvampire instead of the classic, sunlight burning, flesh and blood vampire. It’ll be interesting to see if she has additional abilities and changes unlike traditional vampires.
