I love this story already.

It’s pretty funny watching jaune suffer in a non harmful way.

Now back to the Fanfic where Jaune wants Nora to be like everybody else on Remnant.

By the end of this story Jaune will have Clanged with Summer's Ghost, Jinn in her bottle, and the two Brothers themselves and will have saved Remnant from their judgement of man and Faunaskind by virtue of the brothers loving Jaune so much.

But Nora will still not be interested in Jaune.

And the escalation continues. It looks like we'll be getting Qrow next chapter, at least if he's the drunk I'm assuming he is. It's nice to see how worried Ren is and his nervousness whenever Nora is alone.

Even though it's ultimately only because Nora is the one break he gets from soulmates, Jaune's genuine happiness whenever Nora says anything nice to him is so sweet, as most as it is a massive sign of just how starved for a normal relationship. Compared to the increasing jealousy of Pyrrha, everyone immediately treating a stranger like they're the most important thing in the world and having so many people fighting for Jaune's attention Nora is a gift from the gods, doing her own thing and just being herself.

At first I wasn't into it, but then Nora got his attention.

I hope it comes up later that jaune actually has a rare condition that instead of having soulmate chains he has either the opposite or just friend chains... And those who have never gotten chains are the real soul mates

This is a complete mess! I love it!

Not sure how intentional any of this is, but this is a remarkable bit of satirical writing that lends itself well to the sort of comedy you are going for. The nature of a soul-mate losing all valid meaning, the barely surface level understanding of anyone involved (either for their situation or the people involved), people reading into relationships and picking select moments to justify their choices, the expression of the bond as a semi-literal chain around the wrist, et cetera, the list goes on and on.

Jaune clings to the idea of the one person - and only, I am beginning to suspect - that is not forced to be connected to him. Then he realizes that nothing from his past is worth anything here. Nora becomes an ideal to him expressing his skewed understanding of relationships. Meanwhile, Nora is Nora and lives her life contently and under her own direction.

Where Jaune is outwardly defined by his connections with other people (the soul bonds) and inwardly defining himself by a resentment for that connection, Nora is the only character to achieve any sense of independence. For Jaune to seduce Nora, it would invalidate the entire soul bond system, but it would then bind her to him - thus invalidating her independence.

From that premise, I can think of a few different ways this story can end (each with their own thematic interpretations), but I will leave that aside for now. This is a funny story with some surprisingly deep theming that I am mostly sure I am just reading too much into.
