| Guest chapter 2 . 11/17/2019 This is honestly the saddest fanfic I have EVER read. Especially the 2nd chapter I mean how Jason died and left piper alone alone it was unbearable I swear I cried while reading the whole chapter lol it made me realize how much we need to respect the military and the people who fought for us it really did so thank you. This was a really amazing story I really do hope you add more to it this story touched me. |

I think you wrote the whole PTSD and new daughter scenes very well because as a soldier and being gone for 2 years does something to you. | Charlee56 chapter 1 . 5/1/2019 Great start! The bssic "alt reality" stuff is going good and I like the angst elements; they're really real. I remember mustering out in 1978. It wasn't wartime, but soldiers, especially airborne soldiers always get sent in first. I'd been involved in very "large scale troop movements" that later turned out to not be such "troop movements" as they were warnings to the old Soviet Union. And in those days, that was some serious stuff. After awhile of "living on the edge", our psyches would begin to get a bit bruised. Steapping on a heavy pack, jumping into theatre by 'chute could be really hairy stuff all by itself. Never mind the shooting part, but just making it down in one piece is difficult enough! I can really empathize with any veteran coming home from combat. And Percy is behaving reasonably convincing here. |
