I’m really glad I found it because i was beginning to think there weren’t any good issei x rias stories out there with all the annoying rias bashing stories and angst betrayal stories. I don’t know if this got cut out from that long review I posted earlier or not, but my opinion on the story right now is that it’s decent.

Hold on, Issei thinks that formerly being a Human is a dark segment of his past? How is that a bad thing? I just don’t get it. Or is it because of where he is in life at the moment? Still, that seems kind of racist to me.

It’s... decent, I guess.

While I like the premise of there being some villains who dislike dragons, the villains seem to be one-dimensional and weak. Usually when a new villain is introduced, they seem strong. However, the people attacking the coliseum seem ridiculously weak. I get that they’re just grunts, but still, it’s a bit disappointing. The person leading them, while not the actual leader, just seems so underwhelming as an evil character. The sentences he says just seem so cliche, and his combat abilities are pathetically bad. You’d think that if he was going up against the goddamn Sekiryuutei then he’d at least have a chance at winning, but no, he’s defeated within the first ten seconds of fighting.

Also, how do they not know that Issei himself built the coliseum. That sounds like MASSIVE news that pretty much every single supernatural being would know, if not the Three Factions themselves. It just doesn’t make sense on how they wouldn’t know that.

Another thing, if this organization is so keen on killing dragons, why does it seem like they don’t have Dragon-slaying artifacts/magic? Better yet, while don’t they just acquire Samael? All we know is that he’s sealed in Cocytus at the moment, and considering his poison can hurt Great Red and Ophis, it just seems like a no-brained move. Hades also has a hate boner for the Three Factions, (at least I’m pretty sure in the Light Novels he does) which Issei and Vali, not to mention Tannin, are technically a part of/allied with. I’m not saying that this is a bad fanfic, just that the villains seem incredibly underwhelming, weak, mis-informed and ill-prepared that they shouldn’t even register as a threat, just a small group of villains stirring up trouble because they can. It just doesn’t really bring tension to the story.

Hope I don’t sound like a flame review, I’m not trying to be. I know that the guest part of the review is annoying, and I’m sorry for that. Anyway, I hope you do continue to write this, because future-Issei stories are incredibly far and few in between, so I’m interested in how this story will develop.
