Reviews for Kirisaki Awakening
Attackin2 chapter 12 . 4/3
I wonder when the next chapter will come out
seasel chapter 12 . 1/12
My exams were starting right after the holidays so I completely forgot to review. Anyways, enough complaining about how busy life is. These past two chapters were an appreciated change of pace, it made things calm for a moment. But, just a moment. These kids get no breaks at all. The entire's class interactions are as enjoyable as I remember. Kirina and Chieki are interesting and shrouded in a bit of mystery, gotta keep my eye on these two. Rie and Charlotte are an interesting pair that I'm still chuckling about. Artemis-chan is the best!

Then, the villain foreshadowing, oh boy, I'm hyped. Loki and Beowulf seem to be the biggest point of concern right now. I already love Loki. Not just because of his mythology or MCU, but I can't help appreciating a crazy and devoted villain. Pairing up with Beowulf, it's going to be chaos and hell for the kids.
Butterfly Chikage chapter 12 . 12/18/2019
I'm here, I'm here~! Waves hands excitedly. Sorry, I'm late! Finals finally wrapped up so here I am, hwaugh~

Claps hands. Okay, let's do this! First, I must start by saying I really enjoyed this chapter! I've always liked the softer, fluffier chapters, and this really made my soul happy uwu

But before I get into that...
THE VILLAINS ARE HERE AHHHHHH that was fast. Not that I'm complaining, it's always good, I just wasn't expecting it, that's all. Well, after the team fights, actually, I guess that's the logical explanation, so I guess what I wasn't expecting to happen so quickly was the training camp?
I guess that just goes to show how Kirisaki Academy moves fast~
...I was supposed to be talking about the villains gosh darn Chikage get yourself together
OKAY VILLAINS To start, wow that was a dramatic introduction, I love it. I love the dynamics and theme that all of these villains have already. I think I'll wait until we see more from them individually to make comments, but aside from Loki who obviously has my attention already with how much he stands out, the woman named Fujin(?) is also someone I'm curious about. And, of course, the big boss!
We got some tea on Kirisaki! And the principal! I could tell the principal had been fishy from the beginning, just a little bit, but now I'm super ultra curious! What event were they referring to about revenge and stuff ahhhhhh Zero-tan-senpai this foreshadowing is keeping me on my toes I love it!

Now for my favorite fluffy parts of the chapter! :3
Artemis is a riot, I have much appreciation for her now. I love how she's handling thing and how she's so utterly merciless towards these kids. I'll be honest, Rie and Charlotte deserved that one (love their rivalry though it's hilarious), but poor Hajiro XD Why couldn't they have had a three person tent in the boys either? Ah, well, anyway, it seems like the kids are all training hard!
The part with Hibiki and Itona was super cute to be honest. Flustered Itona matched with cool Hibiki was super fluffy and I loved it. I loved the image painted about Hibiki and the artistic scene, definitely liking him even more now.
The Shirou and Miyuto scene was super cute toooooooo gosh Miyuto is so adorable, and the way she cheers people up is so endearing, I want to give her a hug :3 I love how even Shirou is soft for her, and I love that they communicate so well~
And of course, the interaction with Kirina and Chieki was...need to stop using the word cute...but I have a limited vocabulary so it was FLUFFY OKAY :D Chieki's such a sweetheart, I'm so glad Kirina hasn't weirded her out yet~ And GASP YUKA'S HERE~ That was the perfect entrance, I loved it jaskdfoasidjfoaksd~ And yes, Kirina dear, thank you for at least giving the girl a heads up XD
Aw, but Nishinoya's so friendly and helpful too, what a guy~
Artemis...let the kids eat, they need energy gosh darn it! XD

...oh dear I can physically FEEL the calm before the storm vibe, holy shit something big is gonna happen now and I am READY for it! (Am I though idk honestly)
No but in all seriousness, this was a great chapter from you as usual, senpai, it's always good to see some down time in between the chaotic heroing these kids do. Honestly, you have such a good cast here I've become quite attached to each and every one of them, I can't wait to see them all grow from this upcoming battleeeeeeee~

Good work with this chapter, I really enjoyed reading it! Good luck with your next one, and as usual, take your time and enjoy the writing process~ I'll be waiting patiently!

Sending hugs~

Attackin chapter 12 . 12/14/2019
Out of the villains I’m really liking Loki, I just like crazy villains. I was kinda hoping we could send in a villain idea, but your villains have an interesting theme going on. I liked the scenes where it feels like it’s setting up for the fights. Like how the two girls are still stuck together, and probably will he when the villains attack. So if the students who talk in this chapter represents who’s important in the fights, I’m a little disappointed Kaito won’t get a shining moment. But, I expect him to get his moment later on
Arrow-chan3 chapter 12 . 12/14/2019
Congrats on finishing your finals, Zero! :D
I, too, have just finished my own examinations TwTp
Anyhow! These villains. Are hilarious.
That guy that keeps screaming sort-of poetic words especially. And his lackeys. So dramatic Lmao XD
Seeing them face the students are gonna be fun XD
But they must be villains for a reason! We're gonna get an epic showdown! OwO
... Will the children even manage to get some training done before they arrive. Would be funny if they actually mistook those guys for training dummies lol
Looking forward to the next chap! :D
UnseenAssailant chapter 12 . 12/14/2019
Don't worry, I'm still here for this!

What an awesome chapter. First, our villains are seeming wonderfully mysterious and evil. I love their outfits, and their different personalities. I think my favourite is Loki, just for how wildly unhinged he is, which is really cool. I didn't expect the kids' first villain encounter to be this early on, but I'm definitely excited for it.

And the kids themselves! Gosh I just love them all so much. Shirou and Miyuto are such cute friends, I really like their dynamic. The little bit with Hibiki and Itona was really nice, I think we all need more flustered Itona. The rivalry between Rie and Charlotte is hilarious so I loved their interactions. Artemis is very cruel, so her punishments were only fitting. Hopefully my Rani can keep them from murdering each other in the tents, but I wouldn't count on it. Once again, you're writing her amazingly. And then Kirina and Chieki. Kirina is so strange and mysterious, I can't wait to find out more about her and Yuka (who is lovely, by the way). Chieki is as sweet as ever, I just want to give her a hug!

I kinda feel bad for Hajiro, ha ha, having to share a tent with two teachers is possibly the most awkward situation imaginable.

I really love this story, I'm looking forward to what happens next!
HotSoup2017 chapter 11 . 11/21/2019
After that epic chapter 10 its nice to see the class just chill for a bit. Overall this was a pretty good aftermath chapter and we got to see the reactions of the teachers also. Its so nice to see Nanao actively caring for the wellbeing of her students, especially after what happened with Shirou. The principal is getting shady as the chapters go on. Anyways, it was fun reading the class interact once again, Rie is slowly becoming one of my fav as her fiery personality is always fun to watch. Im quite curious of whats gonna happen next and im also very excited for what you got with the Sports Festival, or Kirisaki's version of it.
Butterfly Chikage chapter 11 . 11/15/2019
Zero-tan-senpaaaaaaaai~ I apologize for not reviewing at all recently, even though I promised TwT Ah but but I re-read the entire thing from the top so I could refresh myself for this review and gosh I can't believe I never said how much I really love this story. I feel disappointed with myself and I'm so sorry ahhhh.

But I'm here now~ Hm, I won't go too much into the commentary on the battles I missed or I'd be here forever, but for a rough review: the characters that I think have definitely started catching my eye as favorites are Hibiki, Miyuto, Rie, Kakeru, Shirou and Sousou obviously, but also like all of the staff, honestly? Principle Fubuki is super mysterious and I hate him for the way he treat Shirou as much as he intrigues me honestly. Nanao remains a precious sweetheart who I would love to see be badass, and the dynamics surrounding her, Stella, and Artemis is probably one of my favorite things to read. But back to the students-if I had to pick a favorite currently, it would be, hands down, Hibiki. His personality was something that I'd already been intrigued by, but his Quirk really sealed the deal, and I'd definitely love to see more from him. But Miyuto comes a really close second, I'll be honest.

Oh! Seeing Souji again was so nice! It's so cool that there's such a main character being featured in class 1-B, I really love it. Also, his relationship with Shirou is really something very precious and I can't wait to see what comes out of it, as well as what possible joint class trainings will happen in the future~

Ah, I said I'd run through my thoughts on the battles briefly, and here I am already sidetracked lol sorry ramble too much. Um~ So, the first match! Yasei's Quirk is...I think I got the gist of it, and it's wild. That seems like it'd be a hard Quirk to handle for both user and target. Itona's Quirk was really simple but unique too, I like~ Rie and Dangan as a team was an amusing and endearing thing to watch, and the battle was really well written.
And the second match~ My girl Kirina~ ...myah, I'm going to be honest, but her character personality is actually a new one for me, I've never really made such a standoffish genuinely antisocial character before lol. You're writing her amazingly though, and I think I rather like her as she is. Okay, her team dynamic with Hibiki is great. As I said, Hibiki has pretty much become my favorite character in the class thus far, that battle was really amazing to read. Almost said watch, that's how good it was lol. Miyuto is absolutely adorable and I love her, and her Quirk is really super badass too, she's such a cute badass ahhhhhh. She's really chasing after Hibiki's number one spot full throttle right now honestly. Hikaru's Quirk is really cool too, although his personality still remains a little mysterious to me. The second match was shorter but definitely sweet, really enjoyed~
The third match! Rani is a sweetheart and I love her as well. Her dynamics with Ken were perfect, and I love Ken too. He's totally become the-well, more than the Iida of the class, I feel like he feels like the Yaomomo of the class to be honest lol. It's cute, he's wonderful. Misao's Quirk is...honestly, it seems really cool and OP almost. She seems like a mysterious character, overall~ Kaito is...am I understanding his Quirk correctly? Is he basically Escanor, to an extent? Somehow I kept losing him throughout the battle too, I really can't tell if that was intentional. Sorry, Kaito! But this was definitely also a spectacularly written wild battle, and I loved the advantages and disadvantages of the Quirks.
The fourth match-oh. OH. For some reason I'd previously received an image of Chieki as more standoffish, but the girl's just painfully shy! I LOVE IT. She's such a sweetheart! -Wait, rereading to refresh, what is her Quirk again? Ah! Got it. Wow, she's quickly climbing the charts of personal favorites as well, I'm definitely intrigued. Okimi was also super cool, I love how supportive she was. Hajiro...speaks for himself, he and his Quirk are both super badass, and I continue to get Hinata Shoyo vibes from him, which only makes him even BETTER. And Tsukijo-she's super cool. Her Quirk is super-I need a better vocabulary honestly-but whatever it's super freaking badass! I'm kind of picturing it kind of like Pain's ability in my head when I see it? Except with black smoke clouds, and that's really cool.
...I don't even know where to start with on the fifth battle. I don't think I have the right words to describe how impactful that match was. I'm really loving Shirou as a main character. He's just the right amount edgy and mysterious, and the backstory snippets we've been getting are really pulling me in as well. His battle with Sousou was SOOOOOO GOOD GOSH I HAVE LEGITIMATELY NO WORDS. Dang, Sousou is really good too, he's sooo badass and his personality is-peak. Wait is that a pun slaps forehead-it's perfect, I mean. I've definitely come to have a newfound appreciation for both of them. Kakeru was also really fun and amazing to read, and his Quirk makes me think of Hisoka every time, but. That's not really relevant. Hikari was also absolutely amazing, her Quirk-I need to stop making references please and thank you okay I'm done.
I think some of my brain cells have died, it's really late in the night, but I wanted to get this done before I forgot AGAIN. So. Here I am. Pardon my lack of cohesion, my thoughts are kind of going everywhere and I'm trying to lay them all out at once so.

Getting to meet the nurse was fun and interesting! It's always a relief to know that they'll have someone that'll be able to patch them up in the end.
Um, I guess the only thing I would say for criticism of any kind at all is that I was kind of confused as to who won in some of the matches, and just a little bit of commentary from the side or aftermath would have been nice? But that was such a blast, I really can't wait to see what you have in store for us in the future (especially with the villains ahhhh but let's not get ahead of ourselves).

After that mess, it was really nice to see the classroom dynamics happening and have a wholesome transition/cooldown chapter (almost said episode). I've really come to love all of the characters in this class, honestly (if you couldn't already tell by my gushing lol), and I can't wait to see where they go~ I'm really excited, Zero-tan-senpai, you're doing a great job! Hugs. Sorry I haven't reviewed, I'll be sure to do so on every chapter from here on out! But anyway, I've been talking for too long now, really, so I'll end it here~

As always, good work~ Thank you very much for providing us with this wonderful update~ I wish you good luck with your future writing, I can't wait to see where you take us! I'll always be here to support you, kay~

Attackin chapter 11 . 11/14/2019
I really liked this chapter, showed off all the character personalities well, and I can’t say I dislike any of them yet. I liked Kaitos little bit, you got him being a moody emo down well. I assume their first villain encounter will be at this camp, so I’m excited to see if it’s the League of Villains or a new villain group.
rokebuto chapter 10 . 9/29/2019
I love the story so far, and I really appreciate the long chapters, keep it up
seasel chapter 10 . 9/29/2019
Zero, oh my goodness... I can't even. I don't even know what to say that hasn't been said yet. But, I'll give my own smol review anyways.

Sousou vs Shirou this lived up..nay it surpassed expectations! I knew it was going to be badass and epic but this chapter had that and more. The development of Shirou was amazing. I feel like he's getting closer to some self-understanding and what he wants for himself. The way it all built up to the CLIMAX was awesome! Sousou getting that power-up from the sun, my goodness I thought it was all over for sure. Then Shirou no longer holding back and his power was just so damn explosive! The climax itself was something I would enjoy re-reading a ton because it was so damn good! Their rivalry is definitely something I enjoyed. They both have seious pride don't they?

I'm stunned at how you were able to keep Kakeru's comedic antics up throughout the fight without it being too obnoxious or taking away from the fight at all. It was amazing! I knew Shirou and Kakeru would be an interesting team-up especially after that Show and Tell incident. With how much they contrast or rather how unaffected Shirou is with Kakeru's insults. I love how Kakeru's quirk is being used and his jokes just keep getting better.

I quite enjoyed Hikari too, she's going to be a fun character to see more of for sure. Her quirk is absolutely overwhelming. Her personality is so bubbly and cute! Her interacting with Kakeru was quite hilarous.

Kakeru, Shirou, Sousou and Hikari all pouring their all and doing their best was inspiring and satisfying! A 10/10 Chapter for sure! Overall, nice job Zero! You hit that 10th chapter and you dropped such a bomb! The good kind of bomb just in case that wasn't obvious. I can't wait to see where else you'll take us Zero!
HotSoup2017 chapter 10 . 9/27/2019
Zero, holy shit my dude, you really went HARD on this chapter! Words can't describe how much i loved this chapter from start to finish. The build-up, the backstory, the development, the bomb-ass fight scene. Everything is so good!

The backstory at the start of the chapter was an excellent build-up to Shirou going all out. It gave us more character for Shirou's grandfather and it gave us the answers on how he's such a stick in the mud. And it also makes sense as to how Shirou is how he is right now. But dude, all this build up for the fight near at the end and holy shit that was some character development! That was one of the best character development moments of this story and it blew me away on how bombastic it was.

As i've said, the fight scenes were just amazing. You described it all vividly and your writing was so on point. Im not even kidding when i say the way you wrote it was novel-worthy. It was easy to imagine and i was also imagining it to have some Hiroyuki Sawano music in the background and it was just awesome. I suggest the readers to read the last fight scene and accompany it with listening to any Hiroyuki Sawano theme songs.

Sousou was someone i never really vibe with initially. But man you really made him shine on this chapter as Shirou's rival. Their dialogue and fights were well-written and it showed us the contrast between these two. Sousou having the fire and tenacity to be the greatest he can possibly be and Shirou the calm but raging storm boiling inside to become strong. These two are perfect rivals.

Kakeru was also someone i did not really like at the first chapters. I saw him as some asshole character. But the tables have turned with this character as i now know what his true personality is. And the fact that he really reminded me of Kazuma from Konosuba with his true advocate for gender equality moment helped lots with making him one of my favorites. Its refreshing to have these type of complex people.

Hikari also shined, literally, in this chapter. She seems really cute and badass in my opinion and i definitely want more of her in the upcoming chapters. She has the potential to be one of the strongest of the class.

Overall, this chapter proved how talented you are in writing and i simply can't wait for the next. Keep up the good work Zero-sensei.
Attackin chapter 10 . 9/27/2019
Not a bad chapter, I enjoyed Shirou’s struggle and Kakeru was definitely my high light though. As for the other team I’m more indifferent. Hikari was just ok, nothing particularly interesting about her yet. Sousou kinda came off as annoying towards me, granted I didn’t like early Backugo so he might get better for me
heartattak chapter 10 . 9/26/2019
There is so much I could say at this moment, but I'm really struggling to come up with the words to fully describe how powerful of a chapter this was. Beautiful, absolutely stunning, and this is easily the best fight that I've read in a SYOC all year. I just... can't fathom how such a fight could have been written so elegantly. I remember you saying that the writing process of this was rather slow, and I can definitely see why. The choreography, the transitions, the small additions, the way both teams adapted to certain situations... all of it was incredibly well-written and executed perfectly. There were no dips in the fight, all of it continuously built up to an awe-inspiring climax unlike anything I've seen in such a long time. Reading it all over again, I can truly see that you put so much time and energy into the creative process of this chapter. For this, you deserve all of the praise you could possibly receive.

The hype that you created for this chapter made the wait seem longer than it really was, but it was all worth it in the end because I have nothing but good things to say about this chapter. That's it. Simple praise from one author to another, and this is the reason why you're one of the authors that I look up to the most because... I don't know, I hope that I can get to a point to where my fights are on this huge of a level. I'm sounding like a broken record at this point. You know, I can't say that I really care. Could there have been a few fixes? Maybe, but I was so high off of what just happened that I don't care enough to even check.

Zero, you deserve every single bit of the respect and traction that you've gained from this story since the very beginning. Every single update, I gradually become more and more hooked by the setting, the characters, the main protagonist, the whole nine yards. If I could contribute any sort of feedback that could help you to improve is to keep this level up. It'll be really difficult, but it'll be worth it as you reap your rewards. Then again, I'm an entirely new author, my point might seem kinda null. Still, I just really love what you've done. This is one of those chapters that I'll be coming back to read for a long time now.

Okay... to talk about what actually happened, where in the world do I begin? We have a very appetizing look at what the relationship between Shirou and his grandfather was in the past, and I gotta say that this makes me really feel for him so badly because he never wanted this in the first place. He was forced into a role that his grandfather hurled him into, and I can completely understand why he's so hesitant on really pushing himself to his limits. That's why I feel like his plus-ultra moment right at the end of the chapter was beautifully written, I am absolutely in love with him as an MC now.

In the end, I'm glad that we got this from him. It really showcases how tragic his circumstances are, having to deal with a grandfather who's doing everything in his power to make Shirou into something that he doesn't wish to become. Constantly hearing people tell him their variations of what a hero is supposed to be when he didn't ask in the first place. The development that we got for him in this was breathtaking, plain and simple. I want to give him the biggest hug after all of this.

Now... to the one who managed to pull this energy out of Shirou in the first place... Sousou. What can I even say...his power is staggering, the visuals fluttering about within my mind sent me on quite the vivid adventure. I knew that both he and Shirou were two of the powerhouses of the classroom but to think that it's on this level is rather scary. The craziest hing about it all is that he'll only continue to grow.

As for his character... I sense a lot of heart within him. A drive to be the absolute best by any means necessary. This makes me wonder... why exactly is he so hell-bent on conquering everything? What's the story behind this character, I really wish to know now. A lot of his actions in this chapter tell a tale of a boy who has an ample amount of potential and power and isn't going to let it go to waste. The reveal that his Quirk is at it's strongest at high noon was something that made my jaw drop directly to the ground.

Like I've said before, Sousou is one of my babies for a reason, and this chapter solidifies why. I'm so happy to see him shine as brightly as he did.

Kakeru... he was a child that I really didn't know what to think of in the beginning stages. He's arrogant, cocky, and a bit of an asshole, those were my three first impressions. However, I have to say that I've fallen in love with him after this chapter. His Quirk is so useful and versatile, it's insane. Plus, his dynamic with Shirou was so unbelievably fun. I love how Shirou is just one of the few people that Kakeru can't insult, it's so cute. The boy is very funny too, most of the times he appeared in the chapter, I've been laughing to a large degree. Seeing him be so ready for a confrontation and quickly tucking his tail to run when he realized that he was at a disadvantage was quality. He's officially in the rankings of my favorite characters.

We have Hikari facing off against him, and she was adorable, I loved every single piece of her! Her Quirk is very powerful, there's no denying that, and her team-up with Sousou built them up to be an extreme threat. I love it, and I love her.

I think that this chapter's fight had everything that it needed to make it a real-life masterpiece. The dynamics of both teams were extraordinary, the action was well-paced and descriptive, helping me to envision all of it as if I was watching one of the best episodes of an anime series. The dialogue? Filled with emotional conviction and occasionally funny banter that didn't deviate or weaken the progress of the battle, and the amount of development that all of the characters received was legendary.

As the story continues, this chapter will always hold a very special place in my heart.

Thank you, Zero~
HotSoup2017 chapter 9 . 9/10/2019
This was another good chapter as usual zero. Im really amazed with the quality of your fight scenes and how detailed and engaging they are. It makes me really excited for more fights to come especially when they eventually get to fight villains where the stakes are higher. Also i like how you're pacing the story and how you're developing the characters, especially Shirou bit by bit. I guess 2 chapters for the battle simulator arc is an okay way of showing off the student's quirks and their personalities. Its straight to the point and you did your job so well with the fights.

Speaking of the fights tho, my man you really nailed it with Ken's 'Iron Will' personality 100%. He really felt like a shounen protagonist on his fight. Tanso's quirk is reallly similar to Kirishima somehow, i wonder how her quirk really works. I know you said that the matchups are by random but man, their enemy team had perfect synergy. Kaito and Misao would make a powerful team, with both of their quirks covering each other's weaknesses. Misao's quirk is the most unique shadow-based quirk i've ever seen. Props to the creator for that.

The next fight was really something because ho i have lots to say with the fighters in this round. First of all, Hajiro, this dude has a really really cool costume and he's really good with fighting too. I initially thought of Hajiro to be kinda okay in general, but when he's in his hero costume and is fighting, he's such a cool badass that i was rooting for him on the entire fight. And speaking of cool badass, Chieki! This cute lil gorl, holy shit she was so cool at the end of the fight. She legit did an omae wa mou shindeiru on Charlotte. Also side note, Chieki's personality and quirk reminds me of Mirai from Kyoukai no Kanata. Next is Okimi, she is one tough girl with a fiery attitude and quirk. Im hoping for her to fight or work with Shirou and maybe perhaps in the future arcs, we get to see these two against Todoroki since they're technically in the same universes. And lastly, Charlotte. She scares me for some unknown reasons. Her quirk is also really unique but i just got some tsundere vibes from her idk.

Up next is gonna be most likely Shirou vs Sousou focused. I believe these two are gonna be the powerhouses and i can't wait for another bombastic action chapter. Keep up the good work Zero!
