You would not believe the size of my grin right now, despite this being the second time I've read this. I absolutely adore it, thank you so much!

There are so many perfect moments here. Virgil completely knowing how to handle his brothers - big or little. His thoughts about trying to order Scott to attention if that was what it took. Their reminiscing about previous rescues and the fact that John and Virg checked up on people. Out of all of them, I'd definitely vote for being trapped under a bookcase if I ever needed rescuing!

The line about Scott being their father's son made me squeal - Virg is possibly the only one in the family who would really see it. I also love that Virg took the picture with him when they retreated - I wouldn't trust Scott either! Love the banter between the three of them - although I do wonder how Virg got Gordon to stay still for 30 mins, he probably has something over him...

What is not to love about the story ending with Scotty in the shower... Mmm, yes please.

I wonder if Jeff realised what he was asking when he got Virgil to do the portraits...
