I really love how you manage to write Odin. He still does the same things, but you show a more human side of him. As a king he really can't afford to care about people or regret what he has to do, but as a dad he really can't help it. I felt so bad - for both of them - reading this. It makes me wonder how much of Loki's presentation in the dungeons was illusion. I'd had the impression that the illusion was something he put up after Frigga died, but this is every bit as plausible. I like imagining the possibilities of what might happen next, if this was the start of an AU. It'd be interesting to see what might have happened, had Odin tried to re-build his relationship with Loki. Reading this, it really feels like he wants to - similarly to the line "I love you, my sons" in Ragnarok.
