| Jajo Camello chapter 7 . 11/3/2019 Just finished catching up recently to this story, good stuff. I seem to recall how they changed some stuff in the original to make Naofumi not look like a scummy person. Memories are not great but I do believe Qinlongfei is correct with their recent comments regarding Naofumi. Kinda disappointing in my opinion because I wish each hero had there pros and cons to them but they have to make everyone else incompetent in order to elevate Naofumi. |

I would like to point out that tanuki indeed developed some minor Stockholm Syndrome towards Naofumi in WN and their relationship is not as pure as people want to believe. Naofumi didn't get tanuki out of altruistic, or even practical reason in WN original. He got tanuki because being accused of rape made him feel emasculated, and he wanted to have total power over a female. He even threatened tanuki when she first refused to kill a Rabbit Pill that he'll throw her back to the slave trader and get the lizard man instead. So yeah, Motoyasu was actually 100% right in his accusation, Naofumi was being very cruel to tanuki at the start even if he ends up mellowed out later. It's just her life is so fucked up by that point, Naofumi's cruelty can be seen as complete kindness to her by comparison because her previous owners are much more cruel than him and shown her no kindness. I actually really like it, because it mirror's Naofumi's personal journey with the story's theme, where cruelty only beget cruelty. But WN Rising Naofumi is no hero, he is a chaotic evil pragmatic villain who got seen as a savior because everyone else are comically incompetent. |
