I love the April Fools episode, but the ending always kinda bugged me. Not because of Dark Arnold or anything, but because the story just kind of trails off and ends with no real clear cut moral... which is just weird for Hey Arnold! Of course, it was one of the last two shows they produced when everything was kind of falling apart behind the scenes just before The Jungle Movie got canned, so... kind of explains the very smartass sense of humor in April Fools and The Journal.
But enough about that, your idea for an ending was great and I kind of wish the actual episode had a little epilogue like this. It would have been nice to see them reconcile just a little bit and Arnold giving Helga a journal is just perfect and shows how much he’s both observed and come to understand her. April Fools is of course set after the movie though, so it’s that little period of time where they’re pretending Helga’s big confession never happened, so it is nice to see him try to open up to her just a little.

Love it! Short, EXCEEDINGLY sweet, and more to the point it serves as a cathartic resolution to the April Fool's day episode which I had always assumed would be handled this way if given a revisit, not that I'm not happy with the canon ending this just seems like something Arnold would do to make it up to Helga ! Look forward to more HA-related goodness from ya!
